It has been a few weeks since my incident. I was fine besides the occasional back twitch and the bruise there as well. It was also the first party of the semester. I decided not to go. I don't do well around alcohol and drugs and supposedly there is supposed to be a lot of that going on. I sit down on my bed and stare at the ceiling for a few minutes. Then I open the curtains and look out to the sky. It is a full moon tonight. I smile briefly then turn back to my book. Not much later i hear a knock at the door.
"Who is it?" I call out.
"It's me Remus." I hear the songlike voice say.
"Oh come in." I say as I stand up and unlock the door. I open it and see his chest, which is odd since I usually see his neck instead. I look down and notice he is wearing high heel boots.
"I stole them from Sirius, don't tell him." Remus says and I smile.
"What brings you here?" I ask him and he smiles.
"A little bird told me it's your birthday, so here." Remus says presenting a slice of cake.
"How did you know?" I ask in shock.
"It was in the school directory." Remus shrugs and I laugh. I open the container and grab a plastic fork and begin to eat. Remus sits down on John's bed.
"How do you like it?" Remus asks.
"It's great, do you want some?"
"Sure" He says and I get up and sit next to him and grab him a new fork and he takes a few bites and smiles and looks down.
"what's wrong?" I ask him knowing that look all to well.
"I just guess it's hard to be, us." Remus says and I look and him confused.
"What do you mean?" I ask him.
"Well I mean arts majors." Remus says and I crook my head.
"What about it?" I ask.
"Well nobody thinks we're going to amount to anything." Remus says and I nod my head.
"I guess, but then again we're not like the rest, or well you're not."
"Thanks but you're better than me and I never say that." Remus says and I laugh as I take a bite of cake. Soon after a few more bites the cake is gone.
"I wrote you something." Remus says and I nod my head.
"What is it?" I ask.
"A poem, here let me read it to you." He says and I smile.
"Well go on, let's hear it." I say and Remus smiles and I laugh. He fumbles around for a minute before giving up.
"I must have left it back in the dorm." He says looking like a sad wolf.
"Hey it's okay, what was it about?" I ask and he looks up.
"It was nothing." Remus says and I nod. I want to push on but I also want to respect his boundaries so I say nothing. This leads to an awkward silence. I brave through and finally Remus speaks.
"It's very pretty out tonight." He says and I look out the window and nod my head.
"It really is, do you like full moons?" I ask and Remus shakes his head.
"Something always goes wrong, like today I spilled water all over my canvas and now my art assignment for tomorrow is ruined, look." Remus says as he opens his sketch book and his page of a street corner is bleeding colors now.
"I'm so sorry." I say and he shrugs.
"it's okay, usually only one thing goes wrong and if this is it then it's pretty good." He says with his chest puffed out.
"Cutie." I say and he looks confused.
"Pardon?" He asks and I shrug.
"I say that to most people when they puff out their chest. Throws them off." I say and Remus rolls his eyes. Nice catch, I think to myself.
"I wanted to ask you something." Remus says and I nod my head.
"What is it?" I ask smiling up at the bean stalk man.
"Would you, um, would you like too well." Remus stutters and I eye him up and down.
"What is it?" I ask again.
"Would you maybe like to help me fix my homework?" He asks and I nod my head and he smiles. We go to my desk and I pull up an extra chair as I focus the lights to the sketchbook. We begin to work on the book, a new page. We get the line art done before eleven and most of the details done by one. I smile at 4 am when we finish. My hands covered in lead and graphite.
"We did it, I can't believe we did it." Remus says and I smile at his excited manner.
"Did you doubt my genius." I say with a smirk and Remus rolls his eyes once again. He pushes away his growing hair from his face and it leaves a smudge of graphite on his cheek.
"Never did, never will, never have." Remus says and I smile. We look at each other for a second and I bite my lip.
"You got something on your cheek." I say and he smiles, his rosy cheeks turning red.
"Um what do you mean?" Remus says looking down,
"I mean you have some of you pencil on your cheek." I say and he licks his hand and rubs it and it disappears. I smile and so does he.
"(y/n) I have a question." Remus says and I smile as I sit back down.
"What is it?" I ask him, he takes a deep breath and I get scared. What if you doesn't want to be friends any more, or worse he hates me now. I don't know why he would but what if he did?
"Would you go out with me?" Remus asks and I am speechless. Was this real I thought to myself.
"Sure, I would love to." I say with an awkward laugh at the end of the sentence.
