I took a deep breath to calm the pounding heart in my chest. I have to focus on this one thing.
In front of me were two scraps of paper with lots of points in them. I read it carefully, ignoring the pair of eyes belonging to a middle-aged woman who was now looking at me behind the paper. This is a temporary employment contract that I have to sign before the legal department of this big management.
After a while of studying, I pressed the surface of my lips slowly realizing that there were a few points in front of me that made me frown.
'Allowed to bring cellphone but not allowed to take any photos/videos during working hours/with the artist'
'If it is proven that there are photos/videos that were intentionally/unintentionally spread publicly, the management will take firm action against this'
Hmm...Okay, I can understand that they don't want any footage of their idol's daily life spread out all over the internet, outside of their own official edited videos.
Other points I think are still reasonable and in accordance with general work requirements, regarding work schedules, to whom I must report and communicate and arrangements for payment of fees.
"Anything to ask, Lily?" asked Mrs. Hill with a friendly smile towards me.
I glanced at her and smiled back
"Apparently not ma'am, everything is clear." I said shaking my head confidently. I quickly grabbed the pen beside the paper and put my signature on the stamp.
"Great. After 3 months this work contract can be extended. Let's see the situation and conditions, okay... you can always talk about your opinion here.." Mrs. Hill looked at me warmly. Her friendliness reduced my unmistakable heartbeat.
"Thank you, ma'am .... please guide and direct me .." I said bowing my body quickly towards her.
Mrs Hill took the paper in front of me and put it in her file folder
"Don't worry Lily... i think you're gonna be just fine here. They're not spoiled idols... they're not a bother at all. You can ask Lee about more details..." she answered while rose from her chair. I followed her with a big smile
"Okay ma'am, thank you. I'll see brother Lee after this." I said while tidying the red and black square flannel shirt that covered the white tanktop on my body.
"Ah yes, Lee was in the practice room. The boys were practicing choreography there. You know where it is, right?" said Mrs Hill again. I nodded quickly with a smile.
"Cheer up, Lily ... looks like you will be the youngest staff for now .." she said smiling warmly.
I chuckled softly then bowed quickly
"Thank you ma'am .." I said greeted Mrs. Hill's nod.
I left the room with a warm feeling in my chest. Youngest? Isn't there another 23 year old staff like me? I smirked. Yes, this means I also have to be able to prove my competence at work.
I walked fast. It still felt like a dream, to be able to walk the corridors of this room and do one of the dream jobs of many girls in this country. If it wasn't for my sister who had to take a temporary leave due to her pregnancy I probably wouldn't be here.
The door to the practice room that was slightly ajar was seen on the right of the corridor. I can hear the music booming from inside. Wow, they were actually practicing.
I secretly giggled to myself while jumping up and down in place to release 'my inner fan girl' who had been wanting to scream.
A second later I cleared my throat to myself realizing the silliness of my attitude, duh, fortunately no one suddenly passed in this corridor.
After taking a deep breath, I finally pushed the door slowly, the sound of thumping music immediately attacked my ears. I can see the figures of 7 young men dancing in the middle of a spacious wood-floored room, backed by the very stomping song 'fire'. My heart beat automatically increased to the beat of the song.
Oh my Gosh, there they are! I screamed in my heart with a little panic.
I stepped in slowly, no one noticed my presence as everyone seemed to be focused on the seven of them. I spread my eyes around the wide room, on the opposite side of the door was a wall completely lined with mirrors so they could clearly see their every movement and expression. On the sides and back there are chairs that are now only occupied by a few people. At the end of the room is a long table with several compartments and drawers. Beside it there is a large drinking water dispenser. Music echoed throughout the room from several loud speakers hanging in the corner of the room.
So this is a world-class idol training ground, I thought.
My eyes narrowed to the right where a man in a hoodie jacket was sitting casually watching the Bangtan boys. He is tall and thin and wears square glasses. His face was serious with narrowed eyes, thick straight hair and pale skin.
Is that brother Lee?
I ventured closer to him while trying hard not to stare at the Bangtan boys. As soon as my figure approached, a smile appeared on Brother Lee's face. He seemed to recognize me too.
"Good afternoon..." I greeted politely
He stood up smiling.
"Aah, Lily huh? Welcome...been here since morning?” he asked kindly then sat back down.
I took a seat interspersed with one chair from him.
"Oh I Just finished from Mrs. Hill's office..." I replied, nodding.
Lee smiled broadly at me while crossing his legs casually. He looks younger than his real age which is 35 years old.
"Your face is similar to Reyna huh.. both are beautiful.." he said suddenly mentioning my sister's name, making me gape in surprise.
He chuckled lightly at my reaction.
"Don't worry, everyone here is relaxed and warm. Make your self at home..." he said amused.
I just smiled nervously.
"Please guide me through this, frankly this is a new thing for me..." I said honestly. He smirked as he nodded.
"After this practice is over, we'll go to my office, okay... there are some schedules that need to be discussed..." he said casually. I nodded slowly at him.
Brother Lee han chu is the head of all the staff here, he makes sure all the staff work well and according to their job desk. According to my sister's story, he is very close to the Bangtan boys. They all thought of him like their own brother.
I spread my eyes in front of me, the backs of the seven amazing men were dancing with focus in front of me, slowly my heart started beating again looking at their figures from behind.
Namjoon is always the tallest, he's at the very back wearing a white crewneck and a black tracksuit. On the left and right, there is SeokJin who looks casual in his t-shirt and jeans and Yoongi who looks swag as usual with a gray crewneck and cargo pants. In front of him is Hobi who looks very energetic with his dance, he is wearing a white t-shirt and a khaki tracksuit. Beside him is Park Jimin who looks stylish in his gray hoodie and ripped jeans. Then in the front row there are two male figures who often make my heart beat wildly... yes, jeon jungkook and Kim taehyung. They both wear a black crewneck and all-black pants, the difference is that Taehyung wears a gray headband while Jungkook wears a black hat that partially covers his eyes.
I bit my lip slowly trying to suppress the nervousness that suddenly appeared. Luckily they all had their backs on me, because my face could have turned as red as a boiled crab if I had to be in front of them while they danced.
"How long have they been practicing?" I asked brother Lee, trying to distract myself.
"Um... since morning, around 9.30. Looks like it'll be over soon, it's time for lunch.." Lee answered as he quickly glanced at the watch on his wrist.
I nodded slowly. No wonder they become global idols considering they are so disciplined and persistent in practicing and working hard to show their best. With conditions like now, where performances are not allowed anywhere, they still practice tirelessly.
The music is playing again, now the song 'ON' is playing loudly. Ah, this is one of my favorite songs! Then they began to take positions with happy faces, it seemed that their energy levels were already at their peak.
After a few moves, suddenly they all laughed at each other because Jin apparently made a slight mistake in his move. They all teased him by imitating the ridiculous mistake earlier and ended with laughter that spread throughout the room. I myself couldn't help but be amused to see their ridiculous behavior as if to confirm one of the reasons why I like them so much, namely because they have a great sense of humor.
Ah, I think Sis and Mrs. Lee are right, I will really enjoy my work here.
In my heart suddenly felt bubbling.
After the song ended, the practice ended.
They seemed to be chatting casually while taking drinks and small towels above the compartment.
I can only glance slowly at them one by one while observing carefully. Oh my God, they all look taller and so much more awesome in person! My little heart screamed in panic.
Some of them greeted brother Lee casually which spontaneously made me lower my head.
"Ok, we're done. Let's go to my office, okay?" asked Lee as he stood up. I stood up while tidying my clothes
"Ah, yes... before that, let's meet everyone first." Said brother Lee while smiling at me. I spontaneously widened my eyes without being able to say anything. My heart suddenly beat faster. Everyone? You mean all of them? Those 7 wonder boys??
I suddenly smirked to myself ridiculously. Nervousness started creeping up my back.
Oops, what the heck! After all, we'll see each other every day, right? I cursed myself.
Brother Lee then called those who were drinking and talking. I bit my lip hard while taking a deep breath.
Jin, jimmin and Hobi were the first to walk towards the two of us, then Namjoon and Yoongi followed, who were busy chatting while walking.
"Guys...great job! Btw, just for your information, there is a new staff who will start working today..." said Lee casually as the five of them stopped in front of him. I stood a little nervously behind Brother Lee's tall body
"Owh.. Great to hear that.." Namjoon answered enthusiastically
"Yeah? Where's the person?.." said yoongi nonchalantly.
Jimin and jin still seem busy talking quietly with their backs to brother Lee
"Lily... introduce yourself" said Lee, looking back.
I then shifted my body to the side and directly faced them all. Our views intersect.
"Um... good afternoon..." I said as I bowed my body slowly and lifted my face. Three pairs of eyes suddenly turned to me. I cleared my throat slowly
"I'm Lily Byeol, nice to meet you .." I said smiling at them. I swear, my heart feels like it's about to jump out of my own chest, especially since Jin and jimin finally turned their bodies towards me
"Oh hi Lily, welcome .." Namjoon said welcoming me friendly. Yoongi who was standing beside him smiled coolly while saying 'hi' with his hand signal to me
"Woah I thought she's a trainee .." Jin said suddenly while laughing at me. I widened my eyes at him. Hobi shook his head while chuckling
"Ah, don't listen to him.." he said glancing at jin
"Welcome, Lily..." Hobi continued with a broad smile. Wow how lucky I was to be able to witness his trademark bright smile right in front of my eyes!
"Ah yes, welcome.. I'm world wide handsome, you know.." Jin suddenly interrupted with a confident smile. All his friends immediately laughed at his ridiculous behavior
"Yeah, I know.." I smirked at him. Then they all laughed louder. I didn't expect to hear those iconic words straight from the mouth of his.
"Hi...Lily, welcome to the family.." the soft soothing voice finally sounded. Jimin looked at me with his warm eyes. Gosh, He really makes me feel inferior with the beauty on his face. How can a man be so handsome yet so beautiful at the same time??
"Thank you very much....everyone..nice to finally meet you all.." I said bowing again. Their hospitality turned out to be real.
"HoaH, whatsup? Did I miss something?" Suddenly a familiar voice came from behind me. My heart suddenly beats faster, is it...
The man in the black hat stepped towards jimin casually, he raised his eyebrows while asking for an answer
"Jeykeeeeey.....!" Hobi greets him with his distinctive tone
"We're welcoming a new staff..." Jimin explained while pointing his chin at me.
Jungkook turned to me. Our eyes suddenly met. Oh, this man.
There are not enough words for me to describe my admiration for his figure, he is a multi-talented man with a perfect handsome face. What more can i say?
"Hello, I'm Lily..." I greeted smiling at him
"Oh...? hi..." he said with a small smile on his mouth. He quickly shifted his gaze elsewhere with his hands busy stroking the back of his neck.
Ok, I'm probably delusional to say that he's being nervous. My cheeks warmed up instantly. Damn. Hopefully no one notices it.
"Where's Tae?" Brother Lee asked jungkook.
"Ah, he's on the phone outside.." jungkook raised his face without sharing his eyes at me at all.
"Ok then, I'll be heading to my office... have a great lunch, everybody" brother lee finally said goodbye to everyone followed by me who stepped behind him. Bangtan boys wave their hands at me as I smile. I felt like pinching myself hard on the cheek to make sure this wasn't a dream.
