Aliana’s POV:
Me and my friends were walking down the side of the lake when we noticed something floating in the water. We stopped to look. We couldn’t figure out what it was, so Mark decided to jump in to see what it was.
???’s POV:
Mark is stupid. He jumped in the freezing cold lake to see what was floating. We all sat on the side of the lake waiting for him to come up. We have been waiting for about 3 minutes now. I am starting to get worried.
Aliana’s POV:
It’s been a while now. “Mark? Are you ok?” I called out. I don’t know if he’s ok. “We should go get some help. I think he might’ve drowned!” ??? said, with a worried look on (?) face. Me and ??? got up, and ran to the nearest store, which was about 13 miles north. When we got there, we ran up to the counter, panting, and cutting in front of the huge line. “Sir! We need help!” I said. “With what? Don't ya see the big line?” the cashier stated, pointing out the line. “That’s not important right now! We think our friend drowned!” ??? yelled. The cashier shot up, and ran out of the store, ??? and I was chasing after him, showing him where the lake was. We showed him where Mark jumped in. The cashier jumped in. It took him about 5 minutes before he came back up. He was bringing up Mark with him. Mark looked..cold. He didn’t look like Mark. But one strange thing..was that he had cuts on his ankles. It seemed as if he was dragged down. Was that thing we saw a monster? Was it a person trying to kill?
???’s POV:
The cashier told me to go to the store and see if anyone had a phone to call 911. After the phone call, I waited till the police and ambulance arrived. I walked them the 12 miles back to the pond and showed them where the cashier and Aliana, and where Mark’s body lay lifeless on the grassy ground. The doctors checked for a pulse, there was none. He was dead. And there was no bringing him back.
Officer Jennings’ POV:
We got to the lake, and saw the boy. My first thought was, ‘If he drowned, why did he have blood on his ankles like he was dragged?’ Then it hit me. What if these two kids dragged him and threw him into the water? What if their the reason that he's dead? No, no. They're just kids. Why would they commit such a heinous crime? “What happened, exactly?” I asked. “We saw something moving in the water, and as stupid as he is– was – he jumped in to see. It took 5 minutes before we realized he might have drowned. So we ran up to the store up north and told him. Then he told ??? to go back and get someone to call 911.” the girl said. That makes a little sense.
Aliana’s POV:
I explained to the officers about how Mark drowned, and how stupid he was. I also told them that he was an orphan and he lived in an orphanage. I told them that we were all orphans. Our orphanage mother owned this lake and we loved to walk down the sides. Me and ??? were struck with grief. The officers told us to go to the orphanage and get our guardian. We did just that.
Lisa’s(Guardian) POV:
I was feeding one of the babies when Aliana and ??? bursted into the room. “Ms. Lisa! Ms. Lisa!” they yelled. “What, what what?!” I glared back at them. “Mark..he…he..” ??? tried to say something but (?) just couldn’t get anything out. “Mark drowned!” Aliana finally said. I looked at them with shock. “The police are down there and they want to speak to you” ??? said. “Stay here.” I got up and ran out the door and to the officers. “Hi, I am Lisa Hoggins, I run the Hoggins Orphanage. I was told that one of my kids drowned?” I was very panicky and shaking. “Yes, we do want to speak to you, Ms. Lisa Hoggins.”
