After being trapped for weeks, after being hunted for months, it was time we woke up and fought back. Revolted.257Please respect copyright.PENANAKc65d5jP2v
We couldn't be treated like this every day, and what about all the other wolves that had been tortured the same way? For no apparent reason at all? It wasn't fair.
I woke up, bound in chains like always, all because we'd lost another petty battle that Storm's pack started. It wasn't fair. We'd left other packs alone, so why did her pack want to come after us, anyway? Who cared if we weren't high up in the ranks of strength?257Please respect copyright.PENANAuvUjavtsBo
I looked over, my eyes scanning all the other wolves that were bound in chains. Growling, I yanked the chain latched around my hind left leg. After three hard tugs, it came off. Huh, the chains weren't even that tightly bound.
I pulled off the other chains - which were, to be fair, a bit harder to pull off - and then went around the dark, cold den, waking up everyone else and telling them to yank off their chains.
"We're not staying here any longer. I think we've had quite enough," I said.
And now here we are, standing face to face with Storm's pack.
"A battle?" She glares at me.
"A battle. If we win, then we leave, and you stop torturing others. If not, things resume the way they are," I say.
She bares her teeth. "Fine."
On the count of three, we start into battle, howling louder than ever.
I go straight for Storm first. If I take down the leader, the rest of the pack won't know what to do.
"Strike, you take the left half. Bolt will take the right!" I shout.
Strike and Bolt lead portions of our pack and Storm's pack away and towards either the east or west. Storm and I are standing face-to-face. I'll make the first move, I guess.
I lunge at her and swipe my claw, and she dodges. Another swipe. Another dodge. She slashes and scratches my side, creating a wound that stings and aches. I grit my teeth. Damn...
Still, I can't lose! I pounce on her, snapping my jaws open, and biting down hard on her neck. She lets out a cry of pain as I jump off and take a swipe at her side. My claws meet her fur and create a large gash.
Three more swipes, and she evades two. The last claw swipe scratches her in the leg. She winces.257Please respect copyright.PENANAt2LIoyZZL0
I look up to see how the rest of the pack is doing. Most wolves are dead - both from Storm's pack and mine - but Strike and Bolt are still going strong, along with the rest of the pack members.
I turn my focus to the battle again. Storm's staggering.
"Think I'm weak now?" I ask before lunging and biting her again.
She lets out a cry of pain and I push her back to a nearby tree.
"This'll be your grave, I guess. Die along with your cruelty," I snapped.
Her teeth are still bared, but she's trembling and glaring at me. Yet that glare of her really means nothing when she's curled up on the grass.
I look to both sides of me. Strike and Bolt are smiling, and the battles and chaos have died down.257Please respect copyright.PENANAo6aXTf89s0
"Looks like we've won."
