"Did you get my pumpkin spice latte?" asked Daniel over the phone. After my last class of the day, I had to walk past the café to get to the front of the school. He begged me to stop and get him a pumpkin spice latte, said that I owed him since he dropped me off at school, which he offered by the way. But since I'm a good person, I get him the drink.
"Yes, I got it. Are you paying me back?" I ask. This is college, money doesn't fall from the sky, even though I wish it would.
"If I do, will you pay me back for gas?" He asks sarcastically.
I sigh, "Touché. I'm coming through the door now." I stick my key in the lock, push it open and walk through the door. I'm greeted by Bridget coming down the stairs, a tight red halter dress clings to her body. Black platform heels with butterflies make her legs look long, she's already tall how much taller does she need to get?
"Fantastic! Sit it in my room, I'm upstairs with Carlee." I hang up the phone. Once she sees me, her eyes light up.
"Don't I look, hot sis?" She asked. Why would she even ask me that, she already knows the answer? I check the time on my watch, it's only 7 at night, where could she be going? "There's a beginning of the year party on Greek row, wanna come there's still time?"
"Nah, I'm just going to watch a movie and eat leftover taco soup." It's been weeks since school has started, and I've been booked. Reading after reading, paper after paper, lesson after lesson, I don't think I can take it anymore. Jill and I have been in the library all week, helping each other study and get our work done. The only thing I've been consuming is coffee and donuts. My pants are beginning to not fit anymore.
Bridget groans, "SOOOOOO lame Eliza. College is about partying and living life to the fullest. You should be out making friends, not studying in the library, and sitting at home on a Friday night like a nerd." On her left is a mirror, she pulls out her glossy lip-gloss and puts some on. She puckers, adds some more, sticks the tube in her white clutch with stones on them, and heads to the kitchen.
"I rather pass college the first time around!" I yell as she walks to the kitchen. All I see is her flipping me off, the only thing left behind is her strong perfume. I believe it's Chanel number 5. How do I know this? Bridget has a different perfume for every event. Party, class, awards ceremony, birthday party, and even funeral. I can't believe I know all of this about my sister, it's weird.
I then remember the latte in my hands, need to get this to Daniel's room. I cross the living room and walk down the narrow hallways to the room. Daniel's room is the last room on the right, across from his is Monica's. Out of all the rooms in the house, Daniel's is my favorite. In the corner of his room sits a large vinyl collection and an old, rustic guitar.
One day, when I was tired and worn out, he played me a song on his guitar. His soft and melodious voice put me to sleep right on the spot. I asked him why he didn't change his major from Engineering to music, never got an answer from him.
An unmade bed sits in the middle of the room, two nightstands on the side that hold a lamp and various letters from the mail. I sit the latte on his dresser, then turn back to the hall. Before I walk halfway down the hall, I run into a wall.
A wall?
Not a wall, but a large chest with big pec muscles, abs like a god. Water drips down the crest of his abs, my eyes are glued to the unknown body. A tattoo of a dragon starts from the pec to the bottom of the waist. I have to hold my hands behind my back so I won't be tempted to trace it. "Elizabeth?" The voice is dark and sexy, deep with treasure. I instantly know who it is.
My eyes look to see Andreas already looking at me. He bites his lip, even his dark, curly hair is wet. God, he looks even sexier wet. How the hell can Bridget, Monica and Carlee live with him and not gawk? They treat him like a sibling. I could never see him as a brother.
"H-hey Andreas." My words stumble over each other. Oh, that's good. He's got me stumbling over my words, staring at him like he's a statue in France.
"It's nice to see you again. What brings you down here?" He asks.
"I brought Daniel a drink. See?" I point to the drink on his dresser so he wouldn't think I was lying or anything.
"I can see. Wish you would have brought me something." He adjusts the towel around his waist, bringing it down even lower. The V that leads to his, you know what, visibly shows. What the hell is he doing to me? "I guess I can have you instead."
I gulp, ignoring the last part, "Let me know next time and I may get you something." I itch nervously at my neck; my eyes look towards the painting on the wall. It's of a naked woman lying in the garden. His eyes follow mine.
"Like the painting?" I nod. "It was painted by a good friend of mine, Katherine."
"Katherine?" I question.
He chuckles, "If you implying what I think you applying, then it's true. We used to fuck, but she transferred to a different campus, not because of me. Her parents wanted her to move back home since she was failing miserably."
"Mhm, she must have been something since you kept the painting." His brows furrow.
"No, she wasn't. I just never took it down, sometimes I forget that it's here." He stares at it for a few minutes, analyzing every curve and color on the canvas. "Anyway, are you coming to the party, it would be nice to have you there, I heard from Bridge that you're a good dancer." I roll my eyes; I wish "Bridge" would shut the hell up sometimes.
"Oh, that I am not, Bridget's being a sarcastic fuck. When I was in high school, I got wasted, like Lindsay- Lohan-Mykonos- dance-drunk wasted. Someone recorded a video of me dancing on a table, it was horrific and sealed my fate for the rest of the school year." I get a second wave of embarrassment just thinking about it.
Andreas chuckles, "You've got to send me that video sometime." He mumbles. "I bet it's sexy." I gasp.
"It isn't," I assure him. My hand finds the wall and leans up against it, if I don't I think I might crumble to the ground. He takes this opportunity to lock me against the wall with one arm beside my head.
"I'll be the judge of that." He whispers, his eyes reverting down to my chest. Out of all the days in the year, I choose this day to wear a revealing V-neck shirt.
"Nice. . .necklace." His finger plays with it, they slightly graze the top of my swelling breast. Can someone please walk down this hall, I'm so paralyzed I don't think I can move on my own away from him. It's a sapphire necklace wrapped around white, dazzling crystals. It was my great-great-grandmothers.
"Th-thank you." I stutter.
"Your very welcome, Elizabeth." The way my name rolls off his tongue, it's tantalizing and sexy. It's like a siren call, luring me into the cave doing whatever he wants with my body.
"You know, Eliza is fine." I let him know. Elizabeth is too formal; Eliza is simple and makes me seem like a regular girl. I feel old when someone calls me by my full name.
"No." His voice comes out raw and stern, those rough fingers of his stroke the gem surrounding the mini diamonds. "I like Elizabeth, it's-
"Dre! Hurry the hell up, Cross texted me, tons of girls are at the party, and they're already drunk. I don't want to miss out on any puss-." He stops talking once he sees Andreas leaning over me, his fingers on my necklace near my boobs. "Who's this Dre?" He questions. I remember this guy, he's the guy from the coffee shop from last week. He kept telling Andreas to hurry up. Curly hair and piercing blue eyes that could draw someone in. He's wearing blue jeans with a black shirt that says, "Ladies Man." I bet he is.
Andreas reluctantly lets go of the necklace and turns towards his friend. I jump once I feel his hand on my back, pushing me in front of him. "Teddy, this is Elizabeth Pratt. Elizabeth this is my best friend, Teddy. And just a heads up, she likes to go by Eliza." I can feel his fingers twiddling against the small of my back, what is he doing to me?
"The famous Elizabeth? The one that attacked my boy!" Oh god, he told his friends. They must think I'm crazy or something. "If you want, attack me, please. I like kinky girls." I don't think he's joking. Andreas snickers.
"It was a one-time thing," I speak.
"Damn, maybe I can convince you. Anyway, it's nice to meet you, Eliza." He looks to Andreas. "Bro, we got to go, my dick is aching for some pussy." I grimace.
In the words of Maddy Perez, "Ewe!"
"Fine, keep it in your pants. Let me talk to Elizabeth real quick."
"I'll be in the kitchen with Bridge, I believe she brought out the Tequila." He leaves us, dancing his way to the kitchen.
Once he's gone, Andreas turns me around to him. "You sure you don't want to come? It would be fun having you there." I'm tempted to say yes, but I would most likely make a fool of myself. I don't want a part two.
"I'm going to stay home tonight. Maybe next time?"
"Yeah, maybe next time. See you later, Elizabeth."
