"Onjo, Cheongsan," Hee-young muttered before running to the edge of the roof where Gwinam was holding onto Cheongsan and Onjo being thrown to the floor. Hee-young quickly ran to Gwinam before taking out her pocket knife stabbing Gwinam once more. Gwinam groaned before throwing Cheongsan aside.
He looked at Hee-young who was glaring at him, raising her eyebrow. He mentally groaned before looking at her. Gwinam quickly held onto her wrist making Hee-young bit her lips as he twisted it slightly, making the pocket knife drop from her grip.
"Hee-young!" Suhyeok shouted as he sees what was happening. He quickly give Gwinam a kick, followed by a punch in the stomach. But none of this affected Gwinam which led to Suhyeok being shoved to the wall.
"Suhyeok! Suhyeok are you ok?" Joon-yeong asked as he sees him. Jimin and Hyo-ryung immediately checked on Onjo.
"Who are you? What the hell are you? You come from the One Heart club?" Daesu asked as he raises his voice a little.
"It's me. Yeah. You don't know? How the fսck do you not know me?" Gwinam groaned.
"I know you. I know you as a bullies gopher," Cheongsan said and that was when it triggered Gwinam.
"If you call me that again, I'll kill you," Gwinam threatened.
"You weren't a gangster and you weren't a good student. And now you're not a human and you're not a zombie either. No matter the time or place... you're nothing," Cheongsan continued to spat.
"I won't just kill you. I'll gouge out both of your eyes and feed your blind ass to the zombies. Everyone but Cheongsan and Hee-young, can go. Unless you wanna die with him," Gwinam said. No one moved. Not even a single muscle. Hee-young glared at him before slowly getting up, trying to get her pocket knife. "You're dead."
Joon-yeong was the first to charge forward but was kicked and thrown away to the wall where his spectacle broke. Hee-young got up giving him a kick from the back of his leg as Chang-Hoon went to give a punch on Gwinam's face.
"Lee Chang-Hoon. I thought you were siding with me," Gwinam groaned.
"I sided with you for very long already. I am not going to let anyone control me nor Hee-young," Chang-Hoon said, as he glares at Gwinam. Gwinam scoffed before kicking Gwinam, strangling him.
"Just because Hee-young is your sister, you want to protect her? Don't forget who is the one who was with her all the way," Gwinam said.
"Yoon Gwinam! Let my own brother go," Hee-young shouted as she look at Gwinam. She quickly gave him a kick in the guts before pushing him away.
"Hee-young! Why do you have to do this! I fucking love you!" Gwinam said as he went to hold Hee-young's wrists. Suhyeok quickly ran up, pushing Gwinam away from Hee-young. "Oh I see, you are in love Suhyeok." Gwinam evilly chuckled, picking up Hee-young's knife as he cleans the blood from it. He then stared at Suhyeok before chuckling, smirking. Gyeongsu tried to distract Gwinam with a plank which led to him being thrown to Wujin, crashing together.
Hee-young's eyes widen as she sees what was going to happen which made her rush to Suhyeok, before kicking Gwinam, giving him another punch on the face. "Yoon Gwinam. You are not allowed to hurt anyone." He chuckled.
"If so, does that mean I can hurt you?" Gwinam smirked before using the knife that Hee-young used to stab him. Namra felt her eye twitched for a moment before quickly taking the fire wood and hit Gwinam. He yelled out before releasing the knife away from Hee-young as she stumbled back a little.
"Hee-young!" Chang-Hoon shouted as he ran towards the girl, who was stumbling backwards, clutching her stomach.
"You smell good. Smell me. You and I are on the same side," Gwinam said, looking at Namra who was near strangling him.
"Fuck off. Who told you to touch my best friend," Namra said as she went to throw Gwinam away, off the roof.
"Hee-young," Suhyeok muttered as he looked at the wound. He quickly ripped out some parts of his shirt, trying to wrap it around her. "Breathe, love." Hee-young groaned in pain as she felt the pressure.
"Take off her blazer," Namra said as she held onto Hee-young's hand as she slowly touched her head, taking the hair strands off her forehead. Chang-Hoon slowly took it off as he tried to make as little movement as possible.
"The bleeding won't stop," Suhyeok said as he lightly squeeze your hand. Joon-yeong quickly took out his tie before tying it around your wound to stop the bleeding.
"It will get infected," Joon-yeong said as he tried to look around for things.
"Does the knife only contain her blood and not zombie blood? She after all did use that knife to kill off zombies," Onjo asked as she looks at the knife on the floor.
"He fucking cleaned that pocket knife with his fucking clothe," Hee-young said as she looks at Onjo.
"Yup, she is still awake. She won't die yet," Gyeongsu said, seeing that Hee-young was still able to say nonsense.
"I'm not planning to become a doctor," Joon-yeong sighed. He quickly used the tie that Hee-young used to wear and tied it one more time around the wound. "This should stop the bleeding for a while. But we need to get it treated, it will get infected. Or even worse, it will increase the chances of her getting bitten by the zombie."
"Anyways, what's with the Gwinam guy? I thought you said you threw him off the window?" Joon-yeong asked as he stood up.
"Yeah, I thought you said he got bitten too? How is he climbing up here and there. It is very creepy," Gyeongsu said.
"He's bad enough... but to be honest, I'm scared of Namra too. You saw her fighting before," Jimin said.
"Yah! Stop talking about my Namra. Be glad she saved y'all from Gwinam," Hee-young shouted, "Fuck shouldn't have done that." She looked at her wound and slowly groaned.
"Aish, you," Chang-Hoon muttered before earning a slap from Hee-young, "Ah, ah, ah. Sorry." Namra gave a tiny smile. They then all sat back around the fire place.
"I... I've never done anything but study. I don't think I was naive, I think I was a coward. I was too scared my grades would drop and my mom would get mad. So I didn't do anything. I was too scared to make friends. My mom would always ask me what rank they were in class, what their parents did, how big their house was... I never thought I'd get a chance to sit around a fire with all of you like this. It's really nice. It's my first time. If we somehow manage to get out of here. I really hope we could make a fire... and hang out like this again. I really hope we can do that," Namra said after taking in a deep breathe.
"Sure, let's do this again," Onjo said as she went smiling at Namra. Everything was peaceful till there was a sound.
"Hold on. I hear something. A helicopter," Namra muttered as she looked up at the sky. Cheongsan and Wujin started to shout to get the attention.
"They are coming to save us," Suhyeok muttered as he looked at the girl who was nearly going to sleep, laying on his lap. She lightly hummed.
"It hurts," Hee-young mumbled as she held onto her wound. Suhyeok lightly caressed her palm as he tried to soothe the pain.
"It's ok. Help is coming, they will tend your wound," Suhyeok assured as he looked at the helicopter that was flying over.
"Get down! All of you. Face down on the ground! Get down!" One of the soldiers shouted as they held onto their gun, aiming at the students.
"Checking temperature," The other said as he went to take the thermometer to check. He reached to Suhyeok and Hee-young and saw the blood. "What's wrong with her?"
"She got stabbed. Can you treat her wound?" Suhyeok explains as he looked at the soldier with pleading eyes. He nodded before checking each of their temperatures. "Slight fever. Requesting for first-aid kit right now, casualty."
"Fuck. Can you not put on that much pressure," Hee-young groaned out loud as she went to look at her wound. The soldier didn't bother but went on to dealing her wound after getting the kit.
"You can go up now. Are you all the only survivors," The other soldier asked.
"We don't know," Cheongsan admitted. They slowly pulled Jimin up to the helicopter till she came back down screaming.
"What operation is this?" Wujin shouted.
"What are you doing? What is this? Please just pull me back up. Pull me back up! God, damn it! I'm not going back. I'm not going. I'm not going. Take me with you! I'm not going. Sir. Please. I wanna get out of here! Please, take me with you!" Jimin screamed as the soldier took of the harness.
"We're fine! We are not infected!" Cheongsan shouted. The soldier sighed before aiming the gun at them.
"Stand back, or we'll shoot," He said. Hee-young looked at them. She slowly sat up, trying not to excruciate more pain to her wound.
"Hee-young, don't. You need to save your energy for later if we are running," Suhyeok said.
"I need to kill that bloody soldier," Hee-young groaned as she glared at the helicopter.
"Didn't they? No one's come to save us now? But why did they do that? Maybe... they thought that all of us were already fսcking zombies," Hyo-ryung whimpered.
"They would have killed us. They wouldn't have left us... here alive if they thought that," Joon-yeong sighed. Cheongsan was screaming in anger, which made the zombies growl for a moment, attracted to the sound.
"Fucking soldiers," Gyeongsu muttered as he went to kick the wood plank.
"My ear hurts," Namra mumbled to Hee-young who was still laying down on Suhyeok's lap.
"Yah, Lee Chang-Hoon. Your girlfriend's ear is hurting," Hee-young shouted at Chang-Hooon who immediately ripped out a few pieces of his shirt before placing it in Namra's ear.
"Better now?" Chang-Hoon softly asked, cupping Namra's cheeks. Namra slightly nodded.
"It's raining!" They shouted as they felt the raindrops fall on the ground. It felt like it was a miracle or something. They quickly opened their mouth, letting the raindrops fall in, just to be able to feel the water going down their throat. Another thunder came and Namra softly whimpered at the sound, it was hurting her ear.
"Joon-yeong. You know how zombies follow us if they hear us? Maybe if we move every time there's thunder, they won't be able to," Onjo said as she recalled what happened earlier that day when Joon-yeong accidentally dropped the bottle.
"I don't think anyone is coming to save us," Jimin said.
"Wouldn't you rather die trying to get out than die here?" Onjo stated.
"All right then. What do you have in mind?" Joon-yeong asked, preventing Jimin from talking.
"If we take the back door of the auditorium to the tennis courts and then go right through the English centre, we can get to the mountain." Onjo said, "If we manage to reach the mountain, we can make it all the way to Yangdong. I've been hiking there a few times before with my dad." Such an expert.
"Even still, isn't this suicide? I'm not going. I'm scared. What are we going to do if the zombies catch us?" Wujin sighed.
"It's not like anyone is going to save us if we stay here. We're the only ones who can save ourselves," Cheongsan backed up for Onjo. How sweet.
"Let's go. If anything goes wrong, I'll scream and lead the zombies away. That way none of you will get hurt, okay? So let's do this," Namra said. Chang-Hoon lightly hit her hand.
"How dare you say such a thing," Chang-Hoon said.
"If anyone has to die tonight, it will be me. Because of the rain, all the scents came to me at once. They got mixed up. The rain is really loud too. I'm sure the zombies' senses are dulled," Namra stated.
"If that is what a halfbie says then it must be true then," Daesu said.
"Namra is strong. She'll keep up. Let's take her word and go," Onjo said.
"I'm not strong now," Namra honestly said, the hunger in her was increasing.
"Why?" Namra shrugged at the questioned.
"I can't make it," Hee-young said as she slowly got up, with Suhyeok supporting her to stand up.
"You will. Shut up," Suhyeok said.
"I will. I can barely even stand properly. I don't think I can run. I can't protect us too," Hee-young said. Namra held onto Hee-young, assuring her.
"How about we hold hands? For protection. It would help Hee-young for sure," Cheongsan said. Wujin nodded before going to Gyeongsu straight away.
"I am taking this little guy," Wujin said and Gyeongsu was smiling happily, Daesu acted as though an arrow pierced through his heart.
"Hee-young, tell me when it hurts, ok?" Suhyeok asked as he looked at her wound which had a bandaged tightly wrapped around her abdomen. Blood was already seeping through the bandage. Looks like the bleeding wasn't going to stop any moment. Hee-young nodded her head. Suhyeok took the first-aid kit that the soldier left behind, slinging it.
They slowly went down as they waited for the coast to be clear.
"It's cold!" Gyeongsu quietly screamed.
"Of course it is cold. It is raining," Hee-young fired back at Gyeongsu.
"Suhyeok, I think she can do it herself. She is literally talking fine and-" Gyeongsu stopped halfway when Hee-young threatened to kick him. "Control your girlfriend properly."
"We aren't official yet, fucker," Hee-young shouted at him. Suhyeok lightly chuckled.
"Oh we aren't yet? So how about now? Will you accept me as your one and only boyfriend," Suhyeok said as he looked at the girl before placing his lips on hers. Gyeongsu groaned. Hee-young rolled her eyes.
"Coast clear," Cheongsan said as he looked at the two who finally parted.
"Stop kissing when we are in a mess ok?" Chang-Hoon said, "I haven't give my permission for the two of you."
"Run!" They started running while Hee-young was already trying her best to keep up with their pace. If she wasn't injured, she could probably manage to run in front of the group but now she was all the way at the back.
"Mom..." Cheongsan's voice trailed off as he sees someone familiar. Onjo was already trying to pull him away. There wasn't much time left.
"There's another zombie!" Daesu shouted as he looked at the figure. With that he quickly took a pole and started hitting the zombie again and again.
"Stop!" Cheongsan shouted at Daesu as he tried to pull Daesu off.
"Stop it Daesu," Joon-yeong shouted as he and Gyeongsu started to pull Daesu away.
"You son of a bitch," Cheongsan mumbled before he went to punch Daesu. Joon-Yeong and Wujin quickly held Cheongsan away from Daesu as he started to shout. "Get the fuck off me! Mom!"
"Pull yourself together Cheongsan," Gyeongsu said as he tried to comfort his own best friend.
"They are coming!" Hyo-ryung shouted as she sense the zombies coming after them.
"Fuck off," Hee-young shouted as she got out of Suhyeok's grip before rushing to Hyo-ryung where Jimin was already running off. She quickly push the zombie away from Hyo-ryung while Wujin was already carrying Hyo-ryung up. Suhyeok was about to make a run till he saw the zombie ready to bite Hee-young.
"Hee-young!" Suhyeok shouted before running to Hee-young, kicking the zombie away from Hee-young before holding her tight. "Don't do that ever again."
"I will moron," Hee-young joked as she looked at Suhyeok, "Let's go!"
"Noona?" Wujin gasped as he sees Hari shooting an arrow to the zombie that was going to bite him. Mijin was crying out as she sees her friend, sacrificing himself just for the group, getting bit everywhere by the zombies.
"No! Let go of me, you assholes! Let me go! No! Joon-seong! Joon-seong..." Mijin screamed. They quickly went in to the room, locking the door. Hee-young groaned as she felt her wound, excruciating the pain once again.
"I'm sorry Cheongsan... I didn't know that was your mom," Daesu said lowly.
"Fuck," Hee-young muttered as she sat down, leaning against the wall. Suhyeok looked at her before seeing the blood trickling down once again.
"Shit. Joon-yeong! Namra!" Suhyeok shouted as he went over to Hee-young, "Breathe ok?" He quickly took out the bandaged that was completely soaked with blood. Namra looked at the blood and her eye twitched little. The blood scent smell amazing, she urged to take a bite. It smelled so good. She quickly looked away from Hee-young as she resist the urge.
"YAH!" Hee-young screamed as Joon-yeong went to place some alcohol on the wound to prevent it from being infected before bandaging it once again, tightly to prevent it from coming off.
"She's still having a fever," Joon-yeong said as he felt her forehead.
"Can you survive till tomorrow? We'll go to Yangdong for sure. We'll from there find for you medical care," Suhyeok asked as he gently squeezed her hand. Hee-young nodded her head.
"She can't survive long. We might not have enough of medical items to tend her wound. Plus, we are after all in an apocalypse. The zombies blood or anything will or might infect her wound," Joon-yeong sighed. They were then interuppted by Hari would was throwing the volleyball at Daesu who was literally begging her to stop.
"Why don't you understand? I really like you," Daesu said.
"Get over here, dear husband," Hari said, her voice sounded as if there was venom inside.
"Wujin help," Daesu begged. Wujin just merely shrugged, not offering the help.
"Come here. Gonna get you, asshоlе!" Hari said as she took another volleyball from the cart.
"Hey, hey, stop it. Stop it. Stop her," Daesu cried out loud as he went on dodging all of the volleyballs that Hari was throwing. Suhyeok took the opportunity to carry Hee-young on his lap, supporting her.
"What are you doing," Hee-young mumbled as she rested her head against his chest.
"Protecting you from the volleyballs," Suhyeok whispered back as he gave her kisses on her head.
"What are you doing?" Mijin questions as she sees Joon-yeong trying to get the cart out.
"Can we move this? Do you think it's possible? We can tie all the carts in a circle, then we can just use them as a shield," Joon-yeong said as he tried to move it again.
"This way. We can use a string to tie them together," Wujin added on. Mijin looked around before finding a whole lot of strings at one corner, showing it to Joon-yeong.
"Cut as many as possible," Joon-yeong stated.
"Hey. There's no way this is going to work. We should flip it over completely, so that we can hide underneath," Mijin gave another suggestion.
"We should stand up," Joon-yeong insisted, "Don't be stupid. Okay? Let's redo them. It's too short if we close the lids. Unless you want us crawling?" Who knew Mijin might burst out loud, being mad at Joon-yeong.
"Shut the fuck up, junior," Mijin shouted. Wujin tried to calm the two of them down.
"Who the hell is she to tell us we have to redo it?" Joon-yeong blasted.
"Who the hell is she? Your fucking nightmare," Mijin shouted.
"Stop it the two of you. Enough is enough. How many people has already sacrifice for us, just to allow us to survive?" Suhyeok finally interfered, "I think that Joon-yeong's idea. Hee-young is injured, if we were to do crawl, it would hurt her wound."
"I'm not fighting to die. I'm fighting because I wanna live. Then do as I fսck¡ng say, asshead. Unless we split up. Problem solved. I don't care about your fucking girlfriend's wound either," Mijin shouted at him.
"We'll vote on it," Namra finally said after staying that quiet.
"You are?"
"Class prez. One. Split up. Two. Stay together. Okay, we voted to stay together, then," Namra said as she sees them raising up their hand.
"Is it smart to vote on life and death matters and just follow the majority? What if we collectively decide to do the wrong thing?"
"Then you are basically stupid," Hee-young said as she groaned once more when Suhyeok decided to move a little, "Can you stop moving, it is hurting me."
"Sorry," Suhyeok mumbled.
"How the fuck did y'all even survive till now," Mijin questions.
"Sorry, but can you mind your own business? You started the fight, now we're voting," Joon-yeong spat at her.
"Hari, give me your arrow. I need to stab him," Mijin said.
"Noona, control her," Wujin sighed as he looked at the girl.
"Anyway, let's move on now. One. We make the outside higher. Five votes. Two. We fold the lids, make a box. So that's four," Namra said as she counted the number of votes, excluding Hee-young who looked really tired.
"Wait. Your vote. If you're for option two, it's a tie," Mijin said.
"Option one," Namra said.
"Option Suhyeok for me," Hee-young said, "Number one in short." They internally groaned as she mention Suhyeok.
"She is too in love," Gyeongsu whined.
"Okay, but don't resent me when the zombies climb over and kill us all," Mijin spat.
"Don't worry, I'll take the front and any blame," Joon-yeong said as he prepared everything.
"Chocolate," Daesu said as they started to tie the ropes and all together.
"Is it still edible?"
"Shit, it's expired," Daesu said, "But we will have to make things work." They slowly passed the chocolate around. Suhyeok took a tiny bite as he gave it to Hee-young who just passed it to Gyeongsu.
"Aren't you hungry?" Gyeongsu asked.
"I have no appetite," Hee-young said. Before she even knew it, Suhyeok turned her head, connecting their lips together. The sweet bitterness of the expired chocolate melted inside their mouth. The sweet taste lingered in their kiss, not ready to break the kiss off.
"Now you have something to eat," Suhyeok joked as he pulled away.
"Did you purposely did that? Just to be able to taste my lips?" Hee-young questions. Suhyeok innocently shrugged as he looked away.
"Joon-yeong didn't even have any!" Wujin shouted.
"I'm sorry, Joon-yeong. You put on the best armour," Daesu said as he looked guilty, his head not looking up.
"It's be fine," Suhyeok said as he went to place the arm pads on her. Hee-young did the same. "How's the wound?"
"It doesn't hurt that much now... I could still feel it bleeding," Hee-young said quietly. Suhyeok looked at the wound and sighed. He quickly took another bandage and wrapped it around once more.
"Pray that it won't be that bad later," Suhyeok joked.
"Everybody ready?" They all looked at each other, before nodding their head. It was either life or death and they were ready to face it.
