"CHEONGSAN!" Someone shouted. Hee-young knew very well who it was.
"What?" Hyo-ryeong said as she looked around, trying to find the sound.
"It's Gwinam. That asshole never dies," Cheongsan gritted his teeth. Chang-Hoon nodded his head.
"I don't hear anything... Maybe we heard it wrong?" Gyeongsu assumed.
"Don't assume that early," Chang-Hoon said as he looked inside the building.
"Here you are," Gwinam said as he popped out of nowhere, making Gyeongsu and Chang-Hoon jump, hugging each other. Namra looked at her maybe boyfriend and her... friend, awkwardly.
"Cheongsan!" Onjo shouted as Cheongsan went to kick Gwinam.
"Main character moment," Joon-yeong, Hee-young and Suhyeok said at the same exact time. Gyeongsu and Chang-Hoon looked at the three who were sighing at the same time before going over to help Cheongsan.
"Fucking piece of shit, Gwinam. When will you ever wake up? You used to be good, like a brother to me, why," Hee-young shouted at him.
"That was before you decided to be friends with these bastards, cowards," Gwinam grunted.
"You used to protect me... Why aren't you protecting me now? Why?" Hee-young tries to calm Gwinam down. He looks at her, eyes filled with nothing.
"I fucking like you and you fucking fell in love with a bastard. Why would you think I will protect you when you have the coward," Gwinam shouted as he threw Cheongsan to one side, facing Hee-young.
"Then treat me like a sister, like how I treat you as my brother," Hee-young muttered, trying not to vomit at the stench of zombie and human blood all over him. Chang-Hoon and Suhyeok were already ready to protect Hee-young whenever Gwinam is going to do something.
He shook his head, "I can never treat you like my sister. I did all these are for you. If you follow me, I can protect you, I can ma-"
"Yoon Gwinam, you still don't understand. I don't love you nor like you," Hee-young said once more, nearly losing her patience. Gwinam loudly groaned and before anyone knew it, Cheongsan went over, pushing Gwinam away from Hee-young.
"Oh my days, this Cheongsan," Joon-yeong sighed, smacking his head. Gwinam held onto Cheongsan, smirking. He looked at Onjo specifically before taking a bite of Cheongsan's arm. Cheongsan's scream screeched their ear, alarming some zombies to growl. Onjo's eyes widen as she quickly tried to get Cheongsan to her.
Loud piercing sound came, hurting their ears. Namra covered her ears as she crouched down, Chang-Hoon rushing to cover her. Gwinam clutching his ear, his arm away from Cheongsan. Cheongsan silently groaned before taking the opportunity to push Gwinam away.
The steel clattered as Gwinam fell down. Cheongsan panted as he looked down, looking at Gwinam's "lifeless" body on the ground.
"It's ok. You hear me? It's ok. You are going to be fine," Onjo said, rushing over to Cheongsan, holding him tightly, trying not to let a single tear fall.
"On-jo. No one's dying. Not here. Not today," Cheongsan said.
"We'll talk about this tomorrow ok? Just don't say anything," Onjo sobs, trying to act like everything is fine. Gwinam's voice echoed the place again.
"You hold this for me. And I'll hold onto this," Cheongsan said as he gave her his nametag while he took Onjo's. He quickly hugged Onjo as he looked at Suhyeok.
"Suhyeok, go to the first floor," Cheongsan said as he parted from Onjo. He turned away, trying to walk but he couldn't.
"Cheongsan!" Onjo sobs louder as she tried to shout out his name. Cheongsan couldn't hold on and turned towards her one last time, pulling her in, placing his lips on hers.
"Yah, Cheon-Cheongsan," Gyeongsu sobs as he looks at his best friend. Wujin held those tears inside his eyes, preventing it from falling down. Cheongsan quickly push Onjo to Suhyeok, looking at Wujin and Gyeongsu before returning the smile that he will always show before jumping inside the building.
"YAH! ALL OF YOU! COME FOR ME!" Onjo tried to stop him but Suhyeok held Onjo tightly. Hee-young wanted to comfort Onjo but seeing Suhyeok holding Onjo like that, made her jealous.
"TODAY I AM THE HAPPIEST GUY IN THIS SCHOOL!" Cheongsan shouted. Hee-young stopped and turned to look back.
"You are the happiest guy in this school," Hee-young muttered, as she looked back once more before hearing the zombies growl. They ran, they continue to run non-stop. Occasionally they will turn back to see whether anyone was left behind or... Cheongsan was there. The bombing exploded inside the school. Hee-young screamed as they felt the impact. The dust and fire covered them. Hee-young felt on the ground, groaning in pain. She held her abdomen, looking at the blood dripping once more.
"I'm going back," Onjo said. With that she just walked off, as if there isn't an apocalypse going on.
"I'll follow her," Namra said as she quickly ran to Onjo. Daesu groaned in pain while Chang-Hoon went to follow Namra and Onjo. Wujin quickly took a look at Daesu's ankle.
"Sprain," Wujin said. Joon-yeong nodded his head before wrapping a bandage for Daesu's ankle.
"Wait... There isn't much left. Hee-young still needs it," Joon-yeong said as he looked at the girl who was leaning against the tree, Suhyeok right next to her.
"You ok? Is the wound alright," Suhyeok asked. Hee-young nodded before taking out a cigarette, lighting it up, taking a drag. "I told you not to smoke till we get out of here. You've already managed to survive without it for like 1 day?"
"It's just one... Maybe I may not make it alive today?" Hee-young said as she took another drag. Suhyeok sighed in defeat. She was going to make it, he will make sure she does.
"Hey, Hee-young, there isn't much bandage left. Daesu needs it... Is your wound alright?" Joon-yeong asked as he walked towards Hee-young.
"Let him have the rest. He needs it more than me," Hee-young said as she smiled through the pain, she gently place her hand on her wound, trying to stop the bleeding.
Onjo came back, miserable. Namra and Chang-Hoon shook their heads when the group went to look at them. A few moments later, they set off walking to Yangdong.
"Shibal, where are we walking," Gyeongsu groaned loudly as he looked around.
"Have we been walking around in fucking circles?" Wujin cursed. They walked around till they saw a yellow ribbon tied around a tree. Onjo gave out another sob as she realises it was her father's.
"You don't think there are zombies here, too, do you?" Daesu cowardly said.
"No way," Wujin shake his head, praying that there isn't.
"Maybe they evacuated, because it's next to Hyosan," Hyo-ryeong said, trying to stay positive.
"I have a feeling, something bad will happen," Joon-yeong said as he swallowed his saliva. It felt dry, like very dry.
"There are no broken windows, or blood on the streets. It wouldn't be this clean if there had been a zombie rampage," Chang-Hoon said as he looked around. It was true, everything seemed normal.
"Hold on," Namra sniffed, "Zombies."
"Where?"
"Everywhere," Namra said and she started to countdown, "Eleven... Run." They started to run as a huge horde of zombies came running towards them. Daesu fell and screamed, slowing them down.
"Take Daesu and the others. Especially Hee-young," Suhyeok shouted at them.
"Forget it," Daesu said, Suhyeok gave him a blank face, "I said forget it."
"Fuck," Hyo-ryeong cursed as she sees the number of zombies.
"I fear this may be the end." Suhyeok held Hee-young's hand intertwining it.
"Stay behind me," Suhyeok whispered.
"Bullshit," Hee-young said, "Since when have I ever listen to you?"
The zombies came and started trying to attach everyone. Hee-young pushed as many zombies as she can, away from the group. She tried to push them inside shops that could stop them from coming out.
A scream could be heard, Hari's. Wujin quickly pushed the zombie away, Joon-yeong cracking its neck in an instant. Suhyeok tried to kick the zombies, using the shovel to hit the zombies. Chang-Hoon tried his best to keep as many zombies away from Namra even though Namra was doing fine.
"Hyeok," Hee-young muttered as she felt a sharp pain from her wound. It was bleeding non-stop. She wanted to tell Suhyeok that it hurts but it stopped her. She looked at Joon-yeong who was already looking at her.
"Hee-young, you're bleeding badly," Joon-yeong panicked, ripping the cloth to clean the blood but she stopped him.
"If I die, tell Suhyeok that I was doing fine. My wound was fine. Tell the same to Chang-Hoon, I don't want them to worry about me," Hee-young muttered to him. Joon-yeong shook his head, worried for her. She gave him a smile.
She quickly ran as she kicked the zombie that Suhyeok was dealing with a gave him her purest smile. She quickly pushed the zombie that Gyeongsu was dealing with as she punched the zombie, stabbing it with the shovel.
"Pretty..." Gyeongsu said as he looked at the girl.
"Yah, wake up," Wujin said, snapping his fingers in front of him. Hee-young chuckled before going to help Onjo.
"I tell you not to fight, you continued to fight," Suhyeok sighed.
A loud piercing scream shrieked their ears. Suhyeok prayed that it wasn't what he was thinking of. He turned around, seeing a zombie biting someone's back. Chang-Hoon quickly ran towards them, yanking the zombie away from them. The flash came off as they cried out in pain.
Suhyeok went closer to see and covered his mouth. Hee-young was screaming in pain. Onjo was protected from the zombie. Onjo looked at the girl who was panting.
"No, no, no. You're fine," Suhyeok said as he tried to carry her, trying to stop the bleeding. "You're fine. You aren't bitten." He kept lying to himself. She shook her head as she screamed.
"Sh-she covered for me," Onjo sobbed. Chang-Hoon looked at the blood that splattered all over her back, the zombie basically ripped out her flesh, her skin.
"You're going to be fine," Suhyeok kept on muttering. Hee-young shook her head, as she felt the warm, crimson blood coming out from her nose. Chang-Hoon bit his hand as he turned away, not wanting to see it.
"I'm turning... Isn't it?" Hee-young smiled at him. Suhyeok tried to smile, shaking his head.
"No, you're not. You are living," Suhyeok said.
"I don't want you to see me turn," Hee-young said as she felt her vision going red. Suhyeok looked at her, still loss for words. "Survive for me, ok? 2 days of being my boyfriend is the best. So survive, get someone else when you survive this. Don't stick to only me." 89Please respect copyright.PENANAGSgpjDXU6E
Suhyeok shook his head, he didn't want her to turn nor die. He didn't want to get anyone else other than her. He didn't want to be alone. He wanted her and only her. 89Please respect copyright.PENANA3IjNzymeot
"No..." Hee-young cut him off, placing her lips on his for the last time before breaking apart, pushing him to Chang-Hoon. She looked at Chang-Hoon before nodding her head before feeling her bones crack. She ran, she ran till she couldn't see them.
She leaned against the concrete wall, tears falling down her cheeks. Her brain was nearly blank. She silently groaned as she felt her body on the ground.
Suhyeok's face was what was left in her mind. Chang-Hoon's smile. Namra's secret cute smile. She smiled once more before she felt the virus take over her body.
