A man with a weathered face and a missing eye stood silently in his padded room. The room was small and with only a few things decorating it, it also had rips and tears around the paddings on the walls from his previous maniacal outburst.
He stood silently and pondering infront of an empty canvas.
Then, the door to his room opened up, and a handful of female guards and the warden entered.
For a while, there was a tense quiet among the group as the warden slowly approached him.
The warden stopped a few steps away and cleared her throat.
"You... are eligible for release," She said, the subtle nervousness in her voice amused him.
Merely turning around to face her, made the other guards ready their weapons.
The man just sighed and sat down on his bed.
This action confused them, but they kept their guard up.
"By who's orders?" He asked.
After that, she seemed uncomfortable.
She stepped forward slightly and cleared her throat again.
"I'm the warden, and I'm not at liberty to disclose any other information about your condition."
The silence hung like smoke over them for what seemed to be a lifetime, when suddenly, he burst out laughing.
"False bravado does not suit you..." He looked at her, "Now tell me, on who's order was it to release me?"
"By mine," The voice of another girl spoke.
The man looked past the group of guards and noticed a young woman in military uniform walking past them.
"By my will as the High Kommandant of the Army of the Steel Cross, I grant you-"
"The failure finally has the guts to speak with confidence, I see..." He interrupt.
The young woman, who was taken aback, just looked at him confused.
"Just say it, you need my help to end this war," He said.
"And... What makes you think that?" the young woman asked.
"Because the former High Kommandant committed suicide, which is why I'm free isn't it?" He answered coldly.
The young woman looked shocked, "How did you know that? How do you know that...?" she trailed off.
He didn't answer and just walked past them all and left the room.
"Come on, child! we have a war to end!" He shouted.
The young woman then followed the man, soon leaving the facility.
