A yet another quiet sunny day at the trenches of the Southwestern borders of German Occupied France.
Wölfe was doing his usual rounds around the trenches, when suddenly he heard an explosion.
A while later, he saw a group of soldiers rushing towards where the explosion was heard.
Curious, he decided to follow them.
They arrived at burning warehouse, Wölfe could see the soldiers trying to extinguish the flames with water.
He then noticed another group of soldiers, they were pointing their guns at a bunch of crates. He also saw Briggite there, gun raised towards the crates.
"We know you're there! Get out now!" She shouted.
As Wölfe approach them, a young girl appeared from the crates for a split second. She started shooting before taking cover again. Her shots however didn't hit anyone.
"Who's that?" Wölfe asked.
"Kommandant Wölfe?" She said surprised by his presence, "A local french girl burned our ammunition supply depot,"
"Why not throw a grenade there?" Wölfe suggested, "Or just rush her,"
"But Kommandant! She's just a child!" Brigitte protested.
Wölfe glanced at her and shook his head, sighing.
He then walked closer towards the crates.
"Kommandant?" She exclaimed.
Wölfe got close to the crates but stopped a few steps away when the girl started shooting in the air.
He noticed that the girl was actually watching him through a small gap between crates.
"You speak English?" He asked.
No response.
He continues to approach the crates and went around it. There he saw the young girl, gun in hand and pointing right at him.
The girl looked about around 14 years old, her entire body covered in dirty stains and her left arm looked burnt.
She was staring at him, her hands shaking as she held the gun.
"Go... Away..." The young girl spoke.
She stared at her which terrified the girl even more.
"Parlez-vous français ?" He asked.
The girl was a bit surprised to see him speak her language, even the young German soldiers looked a bit surprised.
"Voulez-vous mourir?" He asked.
The young girl immediately dropped the gun and said, "Non! S'il vous plaît, je suis désolé!" She said, almost sounds like she was begging, "Ils voulaient que je le fasse!"
"Qui sont-ils?" He asked.
Before he got his answer, he saw Elsa and Erika approaching him.
And he noticed that the fire is gone, but much of whatever was inside destroyed.
"What did you do this time?" Erika shouted.
"You're blaming me?" Wölfe said.
When the two got close enough, they saw the girl.
"Who's... that?" She asked.
"The likely culprit of the fire over there," He answered, "The kid is a bit terrified though,"
"Where is she from though?" Elsa asked.
Wölfe looked at the young girl who was basically shaking on the dirt ground.
"d'où viens-tu, jeune fille?" He asked her.
Erika and Elsa looked at him with the same surprise as anyone else.
"Mendive," The girl answered.
"Mendive," He thought ,"I thinks that's in the free zone,"
"She should be punished for this!" Erika said, "Those ammunition are hard to come by!"
Elsa looked at Wölfe.
"What? I'm not the commander-in-charge," He said, "The choice is yours to make,"
"Are you gonna do it or should I?" Erika asked, she was clearly annoyed.
After a long pause, Elsa finally nodded, "Alright,"
Erika glared at her, she then approached the girl and grabbed her collar roughly, "You'll pay for this," Erika hissed.
The girls struggled to break free but she could after a few more soldiers helped dragging her away.
"S'il vous plaît! Je suis désolé! S'il vous plaît! Aide-moi!!" The girl screamed.
Then silence as she was dragged further away.
"What did she say?" Elsa asked him.
"Hmm," He hummed, "Rough translation would be, please, I'm sorry, please, help me..." He answered.
The answer disturbed her.
"don't worry about it," He said, "Surely, Erika wouldnt harm the child.
Then, a gunshot went off.
"Nevermind," He said.
Elsa then walked away as fast as she could.
Minutes later the group scattered and went back to their posts. Then Erika came back.
"Where is Elsa?" Erika asked.
"Where's the girl?" He asked.
She gave him the death glare and said, "Don't answer my question with a question,"
"I ended her misery and fed her to the hounds!" Erika said, "There are you happy!?"
Erika groaned and asked again, "Where is Elsa?"
"I don't know actually," He smiled.
"God damn it!" Erika sighed, "Wasting my damn time!!"
She stormed off.
