A week has passed and the entirety of France was annexed by the Germans, half of which became an military occupied zone while the other remained a free zone.
after fortifying the Capital city, they set their sights on fortifying the beaches of France to prepare for an invasion.
Sergeant Sybille Leonie Fischer and Sergeant Brigitte Schmidt along with their squad was tasked on building the fortifications.
An entire line of defences on the coast of Normandy.
The red haired Sergeant, Brigitte, has been spending the entire day carrying various crates filled with important supplies.
While she was carrying the crates back and forth, she noticed a black haired girl just laying on a crate.
"Oi Sybille! Get your lazy ass off of that crate and do your job!!" She shouted as she began to walk towards her.
"Just shut up, jeez..." Sybille sighed, "We can't do anything until the metal beams arrive,"
"Then do something else in the meantime!!" Brigitte retorted.
"You're such a baby..." Sybille smirked.
Brigitte rolled her eyes and just smacked her on the head.
"OW!!!!" Sybille winced slightly.
"Don't even start that crap with me!!" Brigitte exclaimed.
Sybille rolled her eyes again.
"I hate you," Brigitte growled.
Sybille just chuckled and continued resting her head.
Then suddenly a soldier and said, "Sergeant! The metal beams have arrived!!" they said.
Sybille sighed and got up, she noticed Brigitte smirking at her.
"Kill yourself," Sybille muttered before leaving with the soldier.
Brigitte scoffed and followed Sybille over to where the steel beams were coming from.
They dragged the metal beams all the way to the beaches as well as some cutting and welding tools.
After collecting a large amount of metal beams, the stood silently as they looked at the pile of metal beams.
"So, uhhh," Brigitte spoke, "What were actually supposed to do?"
"Build," The black haired girl said.
"Build, what?" Brigitte sighed frustrated.
"A Czech Hedgehog," Sybille answered.
"Why does that sound like bad joke," Brigitte replied.
"Because it's not!" Sybille retorted, "Well then we should get started,"
They stood silently again.
"You don't know how to make one do you?" Brigitte remarked.
"Shut up and go away!" Sybille growled.
Brigitte huffed before leaving.
A few hours have passed and Sybille and her squad built up some metal barriers, Czech Hedgehogs, half a mile across the beach. However, their inexperience in engineering caused some to just completely flop after some time.
Sybille sighed due to this frustration and noticed Brigitte smirking at her and her squad.
"What are you looking at?!" Sybille snapped.
"Nothing..." Brigitte said but continued smirking.
"Do NOT smile at me!" She yelled before marching towards her.
"Yes ma'am," She said.
Then, they started making more and more barriers.
They wasted a lot of their time trying though.
Eventually they just gave up and rested on the sandy ground.
"You gave up already?" Brigitte chuckled, "How pathetic," She snickered.
"Shut it, you!" Sybille glared at her before walking away.
Brigitte watched her as she walked away, amused.
But then she noticed someone passing her, she turned around and saw Wölfe.
He picked up the tools and started building.
"K-Kommandant?" Brigitte said, surprised.
He didn't reply, he just continued welding the metal beams together.
"W-what are you doing here sir??" She asked him.
Wölfe stopped welding and turned to look at her before replying:
"Tell your squad to lift up these metal beams," He said before continuing to well the half finished barrier.
It took a while but they managed to complete a lot and the barriers looked sturdy.
"Didn't know you knew how to build these things, sir," Brigitte said.
"Now ram a tank on it," He said suddenly.
Brigitte raised an eyebrow.
"Pardon?" Brigitte said.
"To test the effectiveness of the Czech Hedgehogs, we need to ram it with a heavy vehicle," He explained, "Preferably a tank,"
Without questioning it, Briggite went and ask a nearby tank crew to ram their tanks into it.
After much persuasion, the did it and it caused the tank to get stuck while still maintaining it's position.
Brigitte was quite impressed by the simple engineering.
"Whoa that worked!" She said, "But how do we... unstuck the tank?"
"Disassemble it," He answered.
"Well that's simple enough," She responded.
"Now do it with all the others," He turned around and left.
"Wait... what?" She asked, confused, "But that means, we have to disassemble all of it... and then assemble it again!"
"Get to it, then!" He shouted as he continued walking, "Already showed you how to build it!"
"Good luck!" She heard him say, "Have fun!"
Brigitte just stood silently, then she saw Sybille beside her, staring at her and having a quick snack.
"What was that all about?" Sybille asked.
She groaned and grabbed her by the hair, "Come on you lazy fool! We have a lot of work to do!!"
She shouted as she dragged Sybille by her hair.
Wölfe saw this from a distance and thought to himself, "Damn I really am slowly becoming like him..."
