Yes. Hard question to tackle, but surprisingly, the first reason why I write is probably time. When I'm bored, I usually have paper in front of me, and the first things I did were jot down ideas. Ideas grew to stories, and teachers picked up little stories and they pushed me in the direction of publishing the little stories. The second reason I write is because is suck at drawing. Well, at least I think I suck at drawing. My grandmother was an artist, a really great artist, so everything I did was overshadowed by how great her art was. As a child, I had no interest in comparing myself to her, so I stopped advancing. I draw at about the same level today that I did in Middle School, but the same cannot be said for my writing. In that space, I found the ability to expand without pressure, without comparisons. Another reason I chose writing over some other medium is that I love to read. Really, I love it. As a child, I'd narrate my world like a sci-fi novel, and soon, internal narration met paper medium and my writing voice was born, starting with vampires and twins, and beginning on the internet with James Patterson's Maximum Ride.
