I've always had this fascination with the fictional, the unreal. Ever since I was little, predictably, I'd wanted to be the princess in my own fairytale, to be whisked away by the knight in shining armor and live all these amazing stories that were told to us as children. I guess I never grew out of that, because I still wish I lived in a different universe.
Seeing as the world is a bit less ideal than what we'd hope for, most of my thoughts are creating scenarios in which I'd want to live, if this were a fairytale reality. I write to go on adventures, to feel like I'm there with the characters in their stories and experiencing the amazing and awful and profound things that they do. So many of us don't get to experience those things in the real world.
I write to adventure, because I'm too shy and introverted to do so in reality. And, since I don't see any dragons or knights in shining armor anywhere near, the best way to go on those adventures is to create them myself.
