it was yet another quiet day in German Occupied France.
But it wasn't such a boring day as it turned out that the American forces made an alliance with Spain, a country that remained neutral until now.
With a foothold established on Europe, the American forces with Spanish aid started to launched skirmishes against the Southwestern borders of German Occupied France.
Meanwhile, Britain decided to push their efforts in Southeast Asia even more. Gaining more ground as the days go by.
Germany however, still remained strong due to their numbers, advanced weaponry and their alliances with other countries.
Namely, the newly founded Russian Union, The Norway-Sweden Alliance, and some more in every continent.
A war between the nations of the world.
Back in German Occupied France, Elsa was tasked in defending the Southwest borders.
In order to defend the borders, trenches were dug and other fortifications were built.
Wölfe walked around the trenches, observing the young soldiers as they rested themselves against the dirt or played games.
Compared to the last time he was in a trench, this looked even more unnerving than the usual 'quiet day'.
"Something on your mind?" A voice asked.
Wölfe turned and saw Elsa looking at him with crossed arms.
"It's quiet," He answered.
"Isn't that a good thing?" Elsa inquired.
"No." He answered.
She gave Wölfe a strange look, before asking, "How long have you been a soldier?"
"Curious about my past?" He glanced at her.
"I guess so," She admitted.
Wölfe looked at her and smiled a little bit, "Well, I was conscripted into the army when I was 15, went to war on every front, got shot through the eye once, managed to survive that shot, went insane after the war ended and here I am," He explained.
"That sounds rough," She remarked.
"Yeah well... That's life, no matter how hard it is, it always goes on until we die," He responded, "And what about you, Elsa Müller? Why are you a soldier?"
Elsa went silent for a few minutes, as if trying to think an answer that would satisfy him, "Honestly even I'm not sure anymore,"
"I thought that I would serve the country that my parents had protected with their lives," She continued, "But this war has... changed things,"
"So it seems," He said.
Silence between them as they just observed the young soldiers.
"May I ask?" She spoke, "Why do you... dislike Edelweiss?"
"It's alright if you don't want to explain it," She added.
Wölfe glanced at her again, and just shrugged.
"Very well then, I won't force you," She said before leaving, slightly disappointed.
But then he spoke again, "I don't say this much but I do trust you... I think,"
"That's good to hear Wölfe," Elsa smiled at him.
"Let's see how long it lasts..." He said.
