Suhyeok shouted out her name, non-stop, hoping to get some responds from her. Nothing but silence. Chang-Hoon bit his lips as the tears fell down.
"We have to go," Hyo-ryeong said quietly.
"You promised me. You promise that you wouldn't die. You promised you will be with me forever," Suhyeok cried out, completely ignoring Hyo-ryeong.
"I can't smell her... Her scent is faint," Namra quietly said as she looked around. Joon-yeong nodded.
"We have to go," Wujin said as he heard the silent snarls from the zombies.
"Well, maybe... Maybe Ms Cold Princess is like Namra?" Gyeongsu said trying to make it not that depressing.
"She told you to survive for her. You will survive. If you don't, you are letting her down," Chang-Hoon whispered to Suhyeok before being able to get Suhyeok to run to the safe side, along with the others who followed suit.
"I'm hungry," The voice is Namra's head kept on saying. She tried to bit herself but the hunger in her was unbearable. She slowed down, slowly. She slowly separated herself away from the group, not wanting to risk her hunger.
"Yah... Namra is gone," Chang-Hoon shouted as he looked behind. He looked at Suhyeok who gave him a nod before running to find Namra, Onjo and Joon-yeong doing the same.
Namra looked around banging her head against the concrete wall. Blood splattered as she did that. She looked around before seeing something which she dread to see. Her zombified best friend. She stared at her, the eyes bloodshot red. She could hear Chang-Hoon's shouts. She quickly went into a shop, tied Hee-young against the door handle before looking at her once more. A tear fell from her eyes. She was hungry.
She looked around, a zombie. She knew that she would start eating humans if she don't fulfil what her stomach needs. She quickly killed the zombie and started pulling out its flesh.
"Namra..." Chang-Hoon muttered as he saw what she did.
"Namra, what are you doing?" Onjo asked, "Come back with us."
"Stay away from me. Stay away," Namra growled.
"The others are nearly there already," Chang-Hoon said.
"I said stay away from me," Namra screamed as she turned to look at them. Her mouth bloody, filled with zombie blood, her eyes bloodshot red. Chang-Hoon was speechless at the sight. Namra then lunged and started to tackle Onjo.
"Namra!" Chang-Hoon shouted. Joon-yeong tried to pull Namra away from Onjo but was unable to.
"Namra, it's me, Onjo. You can bite me, it's okay. I know you're hungry," Onjo softly said as she revealed her neck, moving her hair to the other side. Namra had the urge to not bite her. She moved to her neck before screaming and running off.
"Namra!" Chang-Hoon shouted as Joon-yeong helped Onjo to get up.
"I'll find her," Joon-yeong said.
"I'll follow," Chang-Hoon said.
"No, you should go back with the others. It's not safe," Joon-yeong said. Chang-Hoon tried to protest. "I was bitten earlier... I'll find Namra. I think they might not want to have me with them. It's safer... I'll find her body if I can." Chang-Hoon knew exactly what he meant before nodding his head, leading Onjo away from them.
Joon-yeong quickly tried to find Namra. Her breathing, her scent, her sobs. He looked around till he saw Namra kneeling down in a shop, a zombie tied against the knob.
"Namra, why are you-" He stopped talking. "Is that... Hee-young..." He bit his lips as he saw the girl.
"I thought she would be like us... Her scent was still strong. I couldn't bear to kill her. She's my best friend," Namra sobbed, "She told me to bite her if I felt hungry. I'm hungry, but I can't do it." 78Please respect copyright.PENANA2GgBDFa2r3
"We should... We should kill her, wash her up, light the fire at our school. Bury her there. She would love to be buried at somewhere where she found her happiness," Joon-yeong said.
"I can't kill her," Namra sobbed, "Not her. Not my best friend." Joon-yeong sighed. He hates this job. He looked at the zombified Hee-young before holding her head.
"Thank you," Joon-yeong mumbled before cracking the neck. Her lifeless body on the floor. "Let's bury her." Namra nodded. They cleaned themselves up in at the lake as they cleaned Hee-young. Her blood, zombie scent and dirt washed away. Joon-yeong managed to get a few make up sets before handing it to Namra who started to apply it on Hee-young.
Days went by as they buried Hee-young's body at her favourite spot, the sidewalk of the field. 78Please respect copyright.PENANAw4Mk1SayLM
Everyday, they placed flowers at the area, hoping that Hee-young lived well.
<><><6 Months later><><>
Suhyeok thought of her everyday. He looked at her cigarette pack and lighter. Both of them promised to survive together. He stills remembers about Hee-young doing one last smoke. It was as if nothing changed. He took out the cigarette and tried to light it.
"I told you I'm a bad example. Why are you following my ways," Hee-young said as she looked at Suhyeok. Suhyeok looked up, staring at the girl he missed for very long.
"Don't do that ever again. I've missed you. Don't try to kill yourself tonight. Live for me, ok? I can't keep the promise. I'm sorry," Hee-young said softly, "I love you." Then she faded away. Suhyeok has that hallucination again and again. He couldn't move on.
"Bro, Onjo saw something at the our school. A campfire. We are going to see what it is," Chang-Hoon said.
"You've been stuck in this room for ages. Time to get a breather," Gyeongsu said as his head popped out behind Chang-Hoon.
"Mijin noona won't stop till she gets her college admission. Please come before she continues to yap about it," Wujin begged as he popped out behind Gyeongsu. 78Please respect copyright.PENANAOOoPEfUyxl
"I think we should just pull him," Daesu suggested as he ate the chip.
"Good idea," Chang-Hoon said, "Do it." Wujin wasted no time and just pulled Suhyeok along with Gyeongsu helping him as they pulled him outside of the centre.
"The boy is finally out. Fresh air smells good isn't it," Mijin said.
"You guys are really a pain in the ass," Suhyeok mumbled. They climbed over the fence walking to the tree there where there were loads of gifts... For the dead.
"I think you should give one to Hee-young," Hyo-ryeong suggested. He nodded his head before taking out one cigarette butt, placing down on dried grass.
"I think you need one... You probably kicked away that bad habit of yours but... Take it, I doubt the other world will allow you to have one even," Suhyeok said.
"I see light," Daesu said.
"It's actually from our school," Hyo-ryeong muttered.
"What a mess," Daesu groans as they waked into the school.
"The stench," Wujin said, covering his nose.
"There is nothing. Literally," Gyeongsu said as they walked up the stairs. The stair that the students once used became nothing but a dry bloody stairs.
"Do you really it is Namra and Joon-yeong?" Chang-Hoon asked.
"I don't know why but... I feel like it is them," Onjo said, "Namra said once that she wants to light up a fire with us again."
"Maybe... it was kids who came back to the school like us. Maybe it was a YouTuber or something. Like those kids who like haunted houses," Hyo-ryeong said.78Please respect copyright.PENANAuX6ALNCriE
"No, it's Namra," Chang-Hoon insisted.
"You made it," A soft voice echoed. She walked towards them, smiling.
"Prez..."
"Namra," Onjo said, hugging her.
"Am I still your president? It's nice," Namra said, "I've missed you, guys. I've missed all of you. And I am pretty sure someone too." She looked behind her, a shadow could be seen. 78Please respect copyright.PENANAFIHfLy3UGm
"Joon-yeong," Wujin muttered.
"I lost the bet," Joon-yeong whined.
"What bet," Gyeongsu questions as he hugs Joon-yeong.
"This president apparently thinks that you all will come here tonight while I thought differently. But like y'all are here so I lost and now I have to find food tonight," Joon-yeong groaned.
"I wanted to see you. But I thought that I shouldn't," Namra muttered. 78Please respect copyright.PENANA8rHtPuAfu9
"No, it's okay. Let's go. Come with us," Onjo said.
"We still have things to do. There are still others, like us that haven't left the school," Namra smiled. Chang-Hoon looked at her, walking forward to hold her hand.
"Suhyeok... We found Hee-young's body that day. She turned... We didn't want to do it but we had to. We knew that she wouldn't want to last as a zombie," Joon-yeong softly said. Suhyeok looked at him, eyes wide open.
"We buried her after cracking her neck. Her favourite place in the school," Namra said.
"The sidewalk at the field," Suhyeok muttered.
"You guys should pay her a visit, after all it has been so long since you've last saw her. We cleaned her up before burying her," Joon-yeong said.
"Are y'all leaving?" Chang-Hoon questions.
"You're not zombies," Onjo added.
"You know how we're not really kids, but also not quite adults yet, either? That's like me and Joon-yeong. Neither here nor there," Namra said, "We're friends even if we are apart."
"Yeah, we are friends," Chang-Hoon dumbly said.
"They are back. We should get going. Go see Hee-young before y'all go," Joon-yeong said before they jumped off the building without dying. They looked at each other before running down the stairs. Suhyeok arrived first at the field as he saw the bloody field all cleaned up, no zombies left. He ran to the sidewalk where Hee-young will always be at, smoking. 78Please respect copyright.PENANAO2RmruYPyW
"Will you ever stop smoking?" Suhyeok asked. Hee-young looked at him, shaking her head. 78Please respect copyright.PENANAaipkVzom7U
"It calms me down," Hee-young said. Suhyeok then took the cigarette and started to inhale before blowing it out at Hee-young's face.78Please respect copyright.PENANAQMFCaiztPB
"YAH! That's rude!" Hee-young shouted. Suhyeok chuckled before throwing the cigarette away. Hee-young glared at him before trying to tackle him till he held her by the waist. One hand on her waist, the other holding her wrist. Suhyeok looked at her and she looked at him. Suhyeok gazed at her eyes. He slowly looked at her lips before slowly leaning in. Hee-young did the same. Their lips touched each other, till someone had to break the moment. 78Please respect copyright.PENANAVObqmpfdwg
"Yah! Don't steal her from me!" Chang-Hoon shouted as they broke off, looking at the guy. 78Please respect copyright.PENANAH5FPFqMH1B
"We'll not talk about any of this ever again," Suhyeok said, clearly red. Hee-young nodded her head and no one talked about it ever again. 78Please respect copyright.PENANAdeziaxSIX5
"We nearly shared our first kiss here... I miss you... A lot. Tell you what, in our next life, promise me that we'll be here together again. Hm? I love you," Suhyeok said as he tried to not cry. 78Please respect copyright.PENANAvGxe6lYMws
"Hee-young... I love you. I love you, my sister," Chang-Hoon said as he looked at where she was buried.
"Don't forget us," Onjo said.
"We'll reborn together. Everyone of class 2-5. In our next life. So Hee-young, Minji, Cheongsan, Isak, Nayeon, Jimin, don't reborn too quickly," Wujin said.
"Even though I hate you Nayeon, but... I really want to be your friend in our next life. So wait for us, ok?" Gyeongsu said.
"This time, class 2-5 Daesu will become a pop star in his next life," Daesu proudly said. They all chuckled. 78Please respect copyright.PENANAM8psTvDaIx
"I'll get my college admission," Mijin said, "And get my girl." Hari looked at her, sighing.
