Blame me at home on your troubled days,

You're ready to curse when life's fabric frays.

A scraped knee, or a fall—my fault always,

Your anger's loud, for all to hear.

You have nothing to fear, it's my fault too.

I shadow trouble; if I'm involved, it's double.

I'm the dark cloud over your wedding day,

Your car stalls still in the driveway.

A workday ruined, nothing goes right as always.

I say not guilty, I'm innocent, I said, my words in vain.

On deaf ears, my honor assaulted.

A door slams shut in my face.

In your story, is my shame.

Everything is the same, I'm always to blame.

Even when I'm not there, I'm the one you indict,

Unfair, unjust, your words in spite.

How can it be, this isn't right?

The world's woes, my internal hell.

Colliding worlds, the end they spell,

Endless storms, my doing you tell.

Snow in summer, a 12ft swell,

I'm the cause, in this blame you dwell.

Yet, I wear this title, your sin eater, a king of blame.

Absorbing your faults, when you're not right, though I'm wearied and scarred.

Forever your target, my soul bared,

Your sin eater, in a bond unfairly shared.
