“Our Neutron Sun”
I remember once, how blue the sky was.
Now blood red and engulfing everything I knew.
The seas and rivers and streams, and everything that crawled or swam, since vaporized into the now-absent clouds.
The ground slowly burns away, like a candle melting away alone in a dark hallway.
Buildings and billboards are all in flames.
People lie where they died and burn like embers of a forest fire
Screams can be heard on many boulevards, streets, and alleyways. Charred skeletons and boxes are ashes now, where the homeless once resided and stood.
I watch my TV melt as the newscaster tells everyone not to panic, and soon bursts into flame and screaming.
As the broadcast turns black, everything plastic turns to goo around my feet.
The big ball of gas that gave us light and life is in our living room, burning everything.
The morning temp is now 5400°F, and nothing is left but a crimson glow to everything and blackened. In a billion years or so, our beloved sun will shrink.
With the hand of God, he writes the sun's final fate with neutrons, and our beloved sun is a shell and a fossil of its former glory and shine. Our radio signals travel to distant worlds, But the one who receives them will just think it's a strange anomaly.
Our sun will die as it will glow all alone and white.
No one will ever know we were here.

Just a black cold husk will float aimlessly forever when the universe dies, and no one will know of our neutron sun.
