"... And I don't know what to do now." You confess, squishing the soft, yellow pads on your hands.
"Well, why don't you backtrack?" The figure offered. "Where do you come from?"
"That trench over there." You free a hand from your grip and point to the large, dark hole below the cliff.
"You... you what?" The metallic gasped. "How did you get out?"
"Well, when I was down there, I bumped into something. I grabbed it and it started pulling me up. I held on, because I didn't want to fall down. What I grabbed was a handle and it was attached to a colourful ship." You pause in thought, turning to the purple sky. The memory of seeing it for the first time in who knows how long fills you with warmth. "The ship brought me all the way up here. I cleaned myself, because I was dirty, and put these fabrics on that the ship had." You point to the fabrics covering your feet and the big piece wrapped around you. "Then I found this trail and I've been walking around on it, but I haven't found anything."
During your story, the figure listened intently and rubbing their chin.
"My, you have been through a lot, tonight." They said. They turned back to the trench. "Strange... The 'ships' that you speak of, they are made as rides to transport people high across the sky." The figure crossed their arms. "Why did one get so low... was it a faulty model?"
"Why indeed."
You both jump at the rolling whisper to find another creature, this one cloaked in a robe.
"Question marks are better than Exclamations."
