As I went underwater, I completely forgot about my tail. I saw Sierra going down the tunnel. "Wait!" I yelled. I swam faster, trying to catch up to her. I could see her swim up towards the surface of the cove. I followed. "Where are you going?!" I yelled after her. She didnt answer. Instead, she looked back at me and motioned me to come. She ran into the town.
I tried by best to run after her. I saw her run into one of the hotels. I followed her in and saw her talking to Aaron in the lobby. I couldnt make out anything they were saying. Once the conversation was over, i asked her about it.
"I was asking him where everyone else was." She finally replied. "I really want to meet some new people- uh, mermaids, before I can actually call myself one." "I guess that makes sense.. can i come?" I asked. She smirked.
"Sure."
We head on back.
When we jumped into the water, we saw some mermaids there playing together. We swam up to one. "Hello!" We said. She swam away. We found another mermaid nearby. "Hello!" We said again. She swam away as well. "Nobody likes us already!" Sierra cried out. "Dont worry, Cece, im sure there's someone who wont leave. Trust me. We have to meet someone in the next 10 minutes."
We sat on the sandy ocean floor. We waited, and waited, and waited. we were just about to give up hope when two boys, about our age, swam up to us. "Hi." They said. "Hey. My name is Sierra, and this is my friend, Melissa." They smiled. "My name is Lucas, and this is my friend, Michael." "Well it was nice to meet you. Would you like to come to the surface with us?" I asked. "Sure!" said Michael.
So these two had to be Aqualess mermaids, I thought to myself. As we made it up to the surface, I noticed their clothes. Lucas was wearing a black t-shirt and black shorts. He had short blonde hair. Michael was wearing a grey shirt that had the numbers "04" on it in white and denim shorts. He had shaggy, shoulder length brown hair and brown eyes.
"You can have Lucas," Sierra whispered in my ear. "Im going for Michael." I stared at that girl. It's been a whole nine years and I dont understand her.
"Anyway, it may be too late, but would you like to get something to eat?" Lucas asked. "No thank you. We gotta get going, because someone dragged us here in the middle of the night. But maybe tomorrow?" Lucas started to laugh. "Sure, that's cool." Sierra and I smiled at them, and held our necklaces, transporting us back to our room.
I turned around, and looked at the clock. 3 in the morning. I couldn't believe how late it was. Sierra and I laid down in our bed, as we were extremely tired. I let my mind wander to all the things that had happened that day. Before we knew it, we were fast asleep.
