Arachne and I sat down on the couch as she told me everything that Chessy didn't.
"You know the greek myths right?" She said.
"Well yes, and it has to do something about everything weird about this school?" I replied.
Arachne smiled.
"Correct! And guess what?" She asked.
"They're real and at this school right now?" I tilted my head a bit, though I already speculated their existence since the mansion happened.
"Correct again! You already knew. Why'd you even ask in the first place?"
"I never exactly knew it, but I needed some reassurance."
"You don't look surprised."
I looked at the carpet. Yes, I didn't look surprised, and I just noticed how normal this conversation feels to me instead of feeling both excitement and fear.
I remembered by mother, who kept mini-statues of people in togas, and sometimes the statues were naked. She'd pray and offer food to these statues, which I thought was absurd at that age. That was before she became delusional though.
"Hello? Are you still here?" Arachne said as she snapped her fingers infront of my face.
"Oh. Sorry. My mother used to have mini-statues of the greek gods before we moved houses." I replied.
Arachne's smile faded. Her face scrunched into a frown, showing dismay about the topic.
"That's weird. These people are either Christian, Muslim, or atheist. I've never heard of a woman full on worshipping the gods." She said.
I looked down on where I'm sitting at and tried to remember. Did my mother do that?
"I don't really know. Not like I care." I said.
Suddenly, the door burst open.
"Alice! Chessy wants you in her office, now!" a voice shouted.471Please respect copyright.PENANAcVOq6VzEgv
