I yawned as we set up camp for the night and i frowned watching Jessica laugh along with Jake, i sighed and glanced at starling who was sleeping peacefully her wings covering her face. “Well guys, I’m heading to bed” i said, everyone nodded and i sighed sitting on the sleeping bag as i conjured up a little magic trick to cheer myself up. I watched the fairy dust butterflies fly around the room like the beauty and the beast dancing. I yawned hearing kye’s tent zip up and his light click off, i frowned the fire outside still glowing showing that Jake and Jessica were still up.
I stopped the trick and slowly and quietly unzipped my tent peeking outside as jess and Jake chatted quietly. I leaned against the wall of the tent watching them my eyes slowly going to shut just as Jessica kissed him. I sat up quickly a frown plastered across my face as i watched him give in, i growled and grabbed my stuff slipping out of the tent quickly when they wouldn’t notice.
I frowned looking back again before walking into the forest, starling perked up and followed as i walked.
“Are you okay..” a voice filled my head, i glanced at starling and frowned shaking my head as we sat outside the next temple “I’m sorry...” she hummed rubbing against me. I smiled and leaned against her thick furred body, “I’m gonna take a nap starling...wake me up when the sun starts to rise” i said, starling purred as my eyes fluttered shut.
“HEART! HEART!” My eyes snapped open as starling sat in front of me, i yawned and sat up “morning..” i said, she purred and nudged me towards the door of the temple. I sighed and rubbed her head before standing and walking over “can i come?” Starling asked, i nodded.
Starling and i walked into the temple the lights turning on automatically “my daughter..” mothers voice filled the area as starling sprinted to the hologram of my mother sitting down on the ground her gown flowing around her “hi mom” i Said. She smiled sweetly and gestured for me to come over to her, i obeyed and sat next to her. She looked down at me and sighed “your so beautiful...how could i have had such beautiful children “ she said happily. I smiled at the compliment “it’s because your just as blindingly beautiful mom..” i answered. She laughed like an angel her charming smile appearing again.
“Tell me heart...your birthday is soon, yes?” Mom asked, i smiled and nodded “yeah.. ill be 23..” i said with a smile, she sighed happily “and kye also, you two have grown so much in so little time....” she said. I smiled “i wish you were here...” i said, she smiled sadly “i wish i was there too..” she said as she stood “follow me...i have something to show you” she said.
I looked at her and nodded following her as she lead me to a wall and hummed a tune the wall turning into a door instantly “my lovely daughter...this garden...can be yours for as long as you want it” she said, i walked in gasping the scenery gorgeous.
There was flowers and bushes with flowers and trees with fairy dust butterflies and deer and a waterfall in the back, it was relaxing. I exhaled happily as mom smiled “come come..” she said walking away again, i opened my eyes following her on the stone path to the waterfall “this..is a seeing fall..” she said. I raised an eyebrow genuinely confused, she glided her hand over the surface just slightly the water showing her, zodriak, kye and i. I gasped and smiled, she laughed before moving my hand to above the surface “now let it glide, dont touch the water. Just glide~” she said softly. I did as she said “now think of something you want to see..” she whispered.
I thought of the mansion but the thought oof Jake and Jessica kept cutting in, she frowned and i let my hand drop “wanna talk about it?” She asked. I frowned “i...just dont know what to do is all...” i said. She sighed and looked at me “heart...i love you so much... but if he’s cheating you need to leave him behind...forget him..i made that mistake a long time ago and ended up cheating myself...” she explained. I frowned a tear rolling down my cheek. She caressed my heart tattooed cheek the heart disappearing as i turned to my actual self, she frowned “he did this too you didn’t he...” she asked. I frowned scratching my arm nervously.
“He uh..was drunk when it happened...we were driving and crashed...we died together and yeah...now were like this...” i said, mom frowned and sighed “well...i think you you should try to talk to him...maybe your misunderstanding something...anyways my time is almost up...ill see you at the last temple...” she said. I smiled sadly as she disappeared and glanced at starling who was looking at me sadly, “come on star...lets head on to the last one..” i said, starling purred and trotted forwards.
