I turned looking at the ice person sera was pointing too, my eyes widened in sadness and i walked over and carressed his cold face. jake watched with concern and sera cocked her head to the side confused. "this...used to be your uncle..." i mumbled, jake frowned "dont say it like that." he said, she nodded and turned away from the sculpture before smiling sadly at sera who watched her mother curiosly "lets keep going" i said, they nodded as we started walking though the maze of used to be friends and foes.
after hours of walking and sera had falling asleep on jakes back, i sighed and yawned "lets stop here for the night" i said as we stopped at the forests edge. jake nodded and gently passed sera to me as he set up our tent and i kept her asleep, when he was done we climbed in jake and i laying down with sera in the middle to keep her safe.
jake blew me a kiss before closing his eyes and soon falling asleep, i frowned and looked at the roof of the tent not able to sleep and afraid of what would happen if i did. even though i had stopped all of time animals were still able to roam especially the dangerous ones, i frowned and cuddled sera slowly falling into the void of exhaustion.
a hiss sounded causing me to whip around protectively as we entered the forest, sera whined in fear and jake glared at his surroundings. the hiss sounded again as i walked towards the sound and jake grabbed the sleeve of my dress "heart dont." he said. i frowned and pulled my arm away before a snake the size of a bear struck out at me causing me to fall backwards.
it hissed again and my eyes widened as it's disgusting breathe touched my face and stared at me, jake growled and slammed his foot on the ground as shards of ice shot up through the snakes body causing it to screech in pain. sera cried in fear burying her face in jake's shoulder as she cried, jake held out a hand for me and i took it
"this is gonna be a long journey"
