"Listen, Jasper, although you have told us that you are not guilty, we still have reason to suspect you" The smaller policeman told me. I was confused. How could they suspect me?
The policeman continued his speech, "The matter will be taken to court. You are currently the only suspect in this case, the jury will determine weather or not you are guilty."
The other policeman nodded along with what the police officer had just told him. He turned to face me, "Jasper, as soon as we can, we will speak again" with those final words, both of them exited the room leaving me alone.
My legs became weak, causing me to collapse on a chair. Officer Anderson remained in the room alone with me. He looked at me as if he understood my position before speaking, "The trial will begin tomorrow. It will be held in the Kilang Courthouse at 11.00 in the morning. Time is valuable. You can go home now" He said, flashing a teethy smile at me. "I wish you the best" he told me. I nodded in response, turning around to walk out of the room.
As i reached home, it was only just past 11.00am. I still hadnt eaten breakfast, but with the upcoming court visit on my mind, my appetite had dissolved.
"I have to find out who did this" I told myself. I knew as soon as i thought those words, that i would keep the promise to myself that i wouldnt rest until i knew who caused my father to have his life ended at a mere 46 years old. I needed to know the truth.
