[Belle p.o.v]
I don't know how long I've stared at my reflection in the mirror contemplating if I should've taken the kaleidoscope eyed girls offer. One part of me scolds myself for being stubborn while the other part applauds the fact that I said no. In all honesty, I wanted to get out of here. Staying cooped up in a room full of mirrors with nowhere to escape, with only you and your thoughts as company can drive one mad in little to no time. But what's the risk? Letting someone into your head doesn't sound pleasant. Plus, I don't even know if I can trust this thing, or whatever it is. Something about them seemed off. Yet familiar.
Letting out a sigh, I decided to act against my gut and trust the thing. No matter how uneasy I felt about this, I wanted to get out of here. I was starting to become claustrophobic.
"Okay," I shouted through the room, my voice bouncing off the mirrors. "I'll let you inside my head."
"Hehehe, I knew you'd come to your sssenses , Belle." The kaleidoscope eyed girl giggles, appearing out of thin air. She steps towards me. I step back consciously, not wanting to get close to her. Not yet anyway. I wanted at least fifteen minutes of freedom, before I let this thing inside my head. " Don't be ssshy Belle, I'm you remember." She then gave me a pitied expression. " Oh, that'sss right you don't remember. That fucker of a demon ssscramble your memoriesss." The girl moved closer to me again. I took a step back but cursed when my back was met with the cool touch of the mirror. "That won't work. That won't work at all."
"Stormy, will you get on with it already? You're talking nonstop and it's getting irritating." A light airy voice I hadn't heard before said." Looking around I spot another little girl. Instead of black eyes like the other, she had glowing gold ones. "And stop hissing like a snake. It's nerve raking."
The one with the black eyes that I assumed was Stormy growled, turning her head in the golden eyed girl's direction. "So now you want to make an appearance? You had ample opportunity, but no. You just had to come and steal my thunder."
Thankfully, she stopped the hissing, because the other girl was right it was nerve-racking.
"Don't act like you don't know why I couldn't make an appearance. I had used half of our power to fend off that demon at the snobby pet convention."
"You mean kill?"
"That's beside the point." The golden-eyed girl rolled her eyes. They reminded me of siblings. Fighting, but no one really knows what the fight is really about. It reminded me of how my brother and I used to fight. My parents said it was funny watching us since we would have to communicate in sign language.
"Then what is the point, Be, because I was just about to connect myself with our significant other here." Stormy points at me. "Before you interrupted me."
Be, the gold-eyed girl scoffs. "Thank God, I stopped you. You know that we have to connect with her at the same time. Or she would have been balanced. That fuckin demon messed up her mind. I had to find my way here since he put me in an instant relapse of when we threw up all over the front row in Romeo and Juliet in 6th grade." Be shuddered. "Not something I want to endure again."
Feeling left out of the conversation and a bit confused, I cleared my throat to get their attention.
They turned their gazes to me.
"So, who are you again?"
"We are you." They said at the same time.
Okay.... not creepy at all.
"How are you guys planning to help me get out of this place? And what do you mean by someone scrambling my memories?"
"Quessstionsss quessstionsss, ssso many quessstions."
"Will you stop with the hissing?" Be casts her twin a glare.
"You know what, stop being bossy.......just because you have-"
"Okay can you two stop arguing for at least one minute so I-"
"We," they said in unison.
"So, we can get out of here."
They gave each other one last glare, before turning their full attention to me.
"You have to let us into your head. It's the only way." Be walked up to me. Her presence did make me uneasy like Stormy's. Hers was actually quite comforting.
I nod, "Whatever it takes to get me out of this hell hole."
"I don't think Hell looks like this. I've never been down there, but I don't-"
"Not the time Stormy."
"Right, sorry." The dark eyed girl said.
Be shakes her head. "Anyways, when we count to three, we'll touch your forehead at the same time, okay?"
"Okay, I'm ready, take me out of this place."
Stormy smirks, while Be nods.
"One.................................Three."
Then I screamed.
