Diablo and that strange girl are fugitives? But the errie presence of the forest......the uncanny feeling of that girl........
How come I was not able to find my way back, without Diablo? Something just isn't right.
I have to go investigate myself. I know it's dangerous, but, I don't believe for a second, that there isn't more to the story.
"Don't you dare, even think about going back into the forest. That forest, will be blocked off again and investigated" The Officer, scolded me, seeing the curiosity spark in my eyes.
Again? I am guessing they blocked it off, at first when that Araya Young girl died.
"Have you gotten at least any leads?" I asked curiously
Officer sighed, which, made his large belly jiggle and he shook his head.
"Well we tried to investigate the forest, at first, but our first crew, never made it back. We still don't know where they are. We sent a 2nd crew, to find the 1st crew, and they were never found........then a deforestation order was called."
His face pushed down into a scowl and a frown, as if the next part of the story was more alarming than the rest.
"The governor felt the forest was too dangerous. Killers out on the lose, teams missing, and not to mention that forest, is always a distraction. The townsfolk, were getting too involved, with crazy stuff, like, supernatural forces, due to that forest......
"When the deforestation efforts were called, and the team, got to work.........the next day, there was no work made at all. The entire team was found dead, and the 1st and 2nd crews bodies were found at the crime scene.......you have to imagine what twisted sicko, would bring back the bodies, of those, who we were looking for. It was a mockery in a way".
I wonder if that strange, girl and her animals had anything to do with the murders, what about Diablo? Are they truly in kahoots with each other?
I peered into the officers eyes, who seemed, just about stressed with the entire situation. At this point it would not be wise, to send in another crew or investigate, with a large team. Someone or something is slaughtering everyone.
The wisest choice is for me to go down there and investigate. Is Officer Hick's conspiracy true? What happened to the deforestation team? What happened to the 1st and 2nd crew? If that girl and Diablo are behind this, they're less likely to attack me because, they don't know my intentions yet.
"With all due respect.......sir, I do think it's best, it's me who investigates, and I report back to you. Someone in the forest, obviously knows, your intentions but not mine........" I suggested to him.
My mother lightly raised her voice at me. "Chloe, no!!! What are you even thinking right now!"
"Your just a child, you will just end up killed! You have no idea what you're saying, let the professionals handle it! The Officer raised his tone.
."......I think we're done discussing this.....get some rest and I will be back tomorrow" He said trying to relieve the stiff air
I bite my lips hard, it took everything inside me, not to say If the adults are handling it well, why is everyone being killed? I would be the perfect candidate. Police officers, deforestation crews, and search parties screams to a murderer, hey I'm here!
I might have to take Diablo's offer, and meet him tomorrow and figure out what is going on. Is this really, due to supernatural forces? Or are Diablo and that girl, cold-blooded murderers. So many people died, are they working with another group? To trick the town into believing forces are at play.
"Fine but if you don't want anybody to go into the forest, why not just shut our school down and the forest permanently?" I pretended to give in to his demands.
"We try ever.single.year, but the dang public, gathers together like a bunch of mindless, chickens, rallying with their pitchforks. That the forest is, an essential part of HavenBelle history, everybody died because they disturbed the peace of the forest. People were threatening to leave HavenBelle, so due to money and greed that forest is allowed to stand. This town is insane I tell you."
