John’s POV
I begin work and start reading through the first case I will be on, quite the rookie to work on the Nat Hayden cold case.
‘Its been 10 years yet nobody is able to solve this...’
I looked at the case file dumbfounded, wishing it was a dream that isn’t real. I have a feeling that whoever gets to solve this one will get something good out of this cold case.
After all, if veterans can’t solve the case but rookies, wouldn’t that show we made of something?95Please respect copyright.PENANAiqr6a4V6ki

‘2 fatal blows to the head and 30 stab wounds post-mortem...this person must have either hated Nat Hayden to the core or simply has severe mummy problems of their own.’95Please respect copyright.PENANA86fV9w7bOE

I read through to the file thinking to myself stunned by the details of the case. When I continue reading through, an unexplainable feeling just run through my veins for some reason.
“So what do you think and feel John?”
Shyden peeps over from her table asking me. Before I can even feel stunned by her addressing me by my first name, I just explain the case in my point of view and what I think it generally.
“If you ask me, Mam. I personally think the reason why this case hasn’t been solved is because due to how not only the murder weapon hasn’t been found but also, the issue being there is no reliable witness.”
I explained to her after looking at the file case. “How about the clues pick up from the crime scene?” She soon asks me.
“We can start using the latest DNA technology since the only clue we have is a bunch of hair extracted from the victim’s hand.”
I answered right away. “A bunch of red hair that the police thought it can’t be anybody from Knoxville.” I added on showing her the picture in the file case.
Keona’s POV
“A bunch of red hair that the police thought it can’t be anybody from Knoxville.”
I add on telling her. “It could be natural or dyed, so if the DNA can show us either, we may as well can start working on from there.” John says.
“At the same time, even if the killer has done the crime with gloves, what chances he can or she can do without leaving any DNA?” He also put out his point.
‘He’s being trained well. I’m amazed.’ I looked at the chap impressed. “I will definitely look for somebody suitable in the Forensics for it. Impressive.” I then said to him as Madame Lupin also looked at John, stunned by what he has said.
“I’m humbled. Thank you.” John bowed a little thanking me before quietly getting back to his work. I can’t help chuckling a little to myself because of how seriously sincere and honest is this young man.
Then, somehow my pager was vibrating so I head out to check what happened, to my surprise, it was Mrs. Grasby, that annoying as hell homeroom teacher of my son Glen.
Yes she is annoying as hell...because I’m an “ex-widow”...if I’m not the Deputy Chief, this woman be getting herself whacked up already...
‘Better not be that Grasby bad mouthing again’
I think to myself worried at the same time before I grab my phone to give that shameless educator a call, ready to fire at any given time if she tries that thing again.
“Good morning Mrs Grasby, my boy didn’t do ANYTHING this time or did he?”
I asked the moment she picks up with the emphasis on the word anything quickly. “Good to know that you will ask this.” Grasby says to me coughing a little.
“Your son is only 13 and he can pick up final year high school Science. Did you know of this?”
She then continues and explains to me. ‘Final year?’ I think to myself stunned. “You said my son’s only 13, how can he be doing 18 year old Science work?” I asked her back.
“I’m sure I didn’t get the wrong name, Glen Shyden. And I know you have an older daughter that is 18 but studies in another school.” Grasby answers with certainty in her voice.
“Myself and the Science teacher Mr Shaw will like to speak to you as soon as possible, preferably by the end of today.” She continues. ‘Who Grasby think she is? The President of United States?’ I think to myself dumbfounded by what she has said.
“Fine, I will be down after 12.30pm.”
I rolled my eyes giving in before ending the call and going back to whatever I was doing before that stupid call without any chance to compromise.
Letizia’s POV
“What do you want me to do then?”
Daniel coughs as we were talking about the children. “Stop destroying yourself with the cigarette, that’s simple isn’t it?” I looked at this husband of mine shaking my head helplessly to myself.
“This is not some playing around my dear, you’ve been this ill for the whole of this year and not with the kids knowing the severity of it.” I sighed and continued my talk.
“For god sake, not be so macho and tone down.” I soon pleaded. “Even if its not for myself or yourself, do it for the children.” I added on humbly.
“I am happy with John and Robert’s future being fixed but not the girls.” He breaths a little telling me. “Of course they are only going to turn 18 next year.” I facepalmed saying.
“What do you expect then? Them knowing so quick of what they want except not being like their brothers?” I put my hand away from my forehead looking at him.
“One in the FBI, one being a doctor, at least somebody close to look after them” Daniel foolishly answers me.
“Like I said, they’re LADIES not BABIES.” I repeated my usual answer on the verge of throwing my hands on him while the nurse comes in with the bowl of pig kidney stew I have requested to heat up.
“All ready here, Mam”
