Letizia’s POV
“Seriously!”
I softly ranted as I’m driving on my way to my twins’ school as their Literature teacher called me to meet her urgently.123Please respect copyright.PENANApAv4B5x3yf
‘I hope those girls aren’t giving me problems.’ I prayed as I am trying not to hit anybody though I’m trying to get to the school as fast as I can.
It took me a while to get to the school. “Mrs McForbes. Good afternoon” The front-door guard greeted me when I arrived. “Save the greetings. I’m here on something urgent.” I said while filling out the usual troublesome paperwork.
“Oh! Is it about the toilet smacking?”
The guard soon asked me and I looked at him. “I beg your pardon but... w-what...t-toilet smacking?” I asked him, stuttering while trying to absorb in as much information as I can.
“Well well...eight girls in final grade from this morning are involved in some toilet smacking during Literature class.”
The guards soon start explaining. “Yeah go on.” I said for him to proceed his explanation. “Principal Prestwick soon walks in thinking somebody play ball in the toilet but she soon find a** smacking instead.” He soon continues. “Connor says its for a play but Principal thought otherwise.” He then adds on to me saying.
“Where’s the Principal’s office?”
I asked as I soon remember the school office has done renovations recently. “Just at the back of the Vice Principal’s near the cafeteria.” The guard answers pointing to me the direction.
“Geez! That’s odd!” I muttered softly to myself. “But thanks.” I thanked the guard before walking the route to the office.
-At The Principal’s Office-
“It’s bad timing my apologizes that I have to invite you here in the middle of your shift, Analyst Rhineburg.”
Principal Prestwick apologized to me after I took my seat opposite her the moment her secretary lets me in. “I’m glad this is being understood between you and I.” I nodded my head telling us.
“So tell me what my girls had done for this to happen.”
I soon jump right into my question. “Well they have been involved with 6 other girls smacking each other’s hinds in the toilets during Literature.” Prestwick answered right away once I finished my question.
“My interest is, has anybody you know of that been giving attention to your girls of another kind?”
She soon ask me this question instead. “You see, Mrs Prestwick.” I take a deep breath as what the guard had told me earlier came into mind.
“Its no secret here that my family is Catholic and my husband and I were once with the Police, we may not be the most religious but we rather the school authorities run a check on both teachers and students to get the whole story straight first.”
I said to Prestwick that got her thinking for a little. “But shouldn’t you as a parent also talk to your girls about their behavior?” Prestwick ask me back, eyes widened by what I have told her.
“I know what my girls are like for starters, and sadly Miss Connor as an educator herself should also not allow such activity taking place during her class to even start off.”
I looked at her answering. “And given to my knowledge of my girls’ school schedules and learning curriculum, I sincerely believe Miss Connor had been doing it for some period of time.” I also said.
“And you as a Principal”
I soon turn all the attention onto Prestwick herself before she could have a chance to say anything to me.
“Along with the dearest Vice Principal, Miss West, should also have checked these books as well before allowing them to be used for teaching content for Literature in this school!” I continue on with what I have said, dissing the Vice Principal together as well.
“Ana-”
Prestwick was about to charge at me before I stood up from my seat and glared deep at her eyes which got her stopping whatever she is planning to do.
“I appreciate to know what’s going on but not when my time is wasted like that when you can simply just give the girls and Miss Connor a sincere warning.” I menacingly warned Prestwick.
“So if you and West gave those girls and my girls more than just a warning, I will make sure the California State Board of Education WILL not let you supervise any school EVER AGAIN! Hear me, Mrs. Penelope Prestwick?”
I continue as Prestwick timidly sits back down hers. Somehow, she got so scared that she eventually lets me take Letti and Lulu both back home early for today.
John’s POV
After paying Mr James the tip, I arrived at the doorstep of the Emory Place Corrections Office. I was so amused that my face and eyes are instantly awoken by how the outside of the place looked.
“How can I help you there Mister?”
An officer tap my shoulder asking, snapping me out of my train of thought. I soon showed the officer my badge. “From the FBI! Greetings, Junior Agent McForbes.” The officer greets me the moment he sees my badge.
“Greetings to you as well, and you are?”
I soon greeted the officer back before asking his name. ”Junior Officer Lloyd Carmichael.” He then introduced himself. “Greetings Officer Carmichael.” I smiled. “Just call me Lloyd.” He smiles saying.
“I wonder what brings you here to Emory Place? We last have FBI Agents visiting us here 25 years ago.” Lloyd soon asks me about my visit. “That’s long...” I gasped a little to myself in shock before explaining to Lloyd my reason here.
“I’m here regarding a cold case. Is Senior Officer James on duty today?”
I explain and asked Lloyd about the person I’m looking for. ”Senior Officer Sydney James Jr.?” He asks and I nodded my head. “I can help you with that, my twin is a partner to James.” Lloyd smiles before getting his phone to call.
“Ah yes thank you!”
Lloyd says before ending the call. “Yes, Sydney Junior is around and having tea with my twin. I can take you there.” He looks up to me answering. “Appreciated.” I said before I followed him inside the corrections office.
-5 Minutes Later-
“I can’t believe you guys take breaks that far.”
I said to Lloyd when we reached the said place. “We had a prison break-in the last time we are to guard near those inmates so measures had to be taken.” He then explains to me as a thin looking lady officer walks towards us.
“Yo sis!”
Lloyd calls up to the lady. “Yo bruh! Didn’t know ya be taking a FBI agent here.” The lady, who is apparently his twin, says to Lloyd.
“Agent McForbes, meet Junior Officer Savannah Carmichael.” Lloyd introduced his twin to me. “Sis, meet FBI Junior Agent John McForbes.” He then introduced me to his sister.
“Nice to meet you”
We both greeted by exchanging handshakes. “Likewise, what brings you here?” Savannah then asks me. “Is Senior Officer Sydney James around?” I asked her.
“Yes inside.”
She says before she takes me inside while Lloyd waits outside for me. “Good day there Agent McForbes.” The Senior Officer greets me after Savannah introduces me to him. “You can call me John. Nice to meet you.” I greeted him saying.
“Hope everything is well for you here.”
He smiles. “But what brings you to me?” He soon asks me as Savannah leave us both alone. “Not really a grave thing. Just about the Nat Hayden case.” I then explain the reason I’m here.
“I understand you’ve lived the same vicinity as Nat Hayden.”
I continued explaining. “I would like to know if you still remember anything else about the perp and also any extra details regarding Nat Hayden.” I end off saying.
“Well well...I really only remember a red-strawberry hair person coming in that very night.” He responds to me. “But that young lass was also very new to the vicinity.” He then continues.
“How new?”
I then asked. “Very new like 2 weeks, usually you take one month to get everyone knowing everything about ya.” He says which I nod my head understanding.
“Do you notice anybody special prior to the incident?”
I soon carefully asked Sydney. “Not really up till that night. But I remember that lass always look very stressed.” He answers scratching his head.
“Usually people that age be living free like a bird but she looks like something on in her life but yet she can’t get it off...” He soon continues.
“You never asked her?”
I soon asked him. “I wish I had but I’m very busy with getting a promotion that I barely been home in the weekends.” He answers.
“Fair enough.”
I nodded my head understanding. “Times have gotten better that I have gotten the promotion.” He comments. “Yes of course. I can see you must have bust for it.” I said to him even though deep down I find his answers vague and suspicious
-2 Hours Later-
“I thank you for this interview.”
I said as I took his offer to escort me out. “No worries. I am glad to help if you need anymore assistance.” He says to me.
We soon bid our farewell and went out separate ways. I walked to this Fried Chicken shop down the street where the corrections office is located.
“Mama Harris Fried Chicken with Collard Greens and Secret Sauce!”
One of the staff was promoting as I was looking at the menu and trying to figure out what will be good here. Somewhat I was pulled into the shop before I could do anything and sat down on those rustic wooden seats.
‘What am I doing here?’
I think to myself looking around before a plump African lady walk towards me. She looks menacing to the point I could feel my stomach line closing on its own.
“Are ya young bloke from the FBI?”
The lady soon asks me and I nodded my head. “Y-Yeah...” I stuttered as I nod my head answering. “Be careful of that gentleman officer you’re with.” She soon whispers to my ear.
“May I know the meaning of that...?”
I looked at her slightly confused by what she has whispered to me. “He’s only friendly to certain people.” She soon explains and I can’t help feeling eerie.
“So he has many sides to him?”
I asked her, as I try to understand what she is talking about. “He’s always here with his Ku Klux Klan buddies.” She sits down telling me as she gives me a glass of water.
“So you mean that Officer is a Ku Klux Klan member?”
I asked her and she shrug her shoulders. “He’s always in his uniform so I can’t be certain.” She soon tells me. ‘So Sydney James is a white supremacist...Creepy...’ I gulp down the water in worry.
“I sure do wish I could blackball him from the store.”
She also take a cup herself of water saying softly. “WOW...” I looked at her amazed. “He and his buddies always be givin’ them little pointers and makin’ trouble for my gals on staff.” She soon explains.
“In what way?” I asked her. “Only shelling out $5 a pop and dishin’ out mighty offensive words ‘bout them gals, even takin’ a jab at me, verbally.” She continues explaining to me.
“Popping only $5 is bad enough but hadn’t anybody talk to him personally?”
I then asked her. “He ain’t got no ears for nobody else but him, bless his soul.” She rolls her eyes answering.123Please respect copyright.PENANAAVE6DrDaxq

-Later That Night-
“Seriously?!”
Keona asked me when I called her using the hotel phone that very night and told her everything I have heard at the Chicken shop and Corrections Office.
“Why would I fib?...but he looks real sketchy Mam.”
I said to her. “He passed the polygraph then and if he really had a hand in it, we will have a hard case on this one considering who he is.” Keona tells me.
“I know Mam...” I sighed. "I reckon it’s about time you called it a night. I will get somebody on James." She tells me.123Please respect copyright.PENANAESMX9QttRr
