Aladora's heart raced; her breaths very shallow. The bathroom mirror reflected her trembling face as she scrubbed her hands raw. The crimson stain clung stubbornly, a testament to her desperate act. Her house on Ecosia Lane was her sanctuary, but it now felt otherwise. She then heard knocking. It echoed through the dimly lit hallway, and into her restroom, each rap a chill down her spine. And then, the top hat appeared. Sinister and poised, it stood, its brim casting shadows across the dead body. The smile it displayed seemed to mock her, just the beginning of promising secrets and horrors. Aladora fled, slamming the door behind her, her footsteps echoing through the empty house. She reached her room, slammed the door shut, and bolted it. But the top hat was relentless, materialising on her bed, its presence suffocating.

The top hat there,a singular flickering light illuminating it, its eyes boring into her soul. It whispered, a voice that shattered all hope she ever had.
