Eryth eyed the chief of the village before turning to the direction the attackers were announced to be coming from. He slipped his sword into its scabbard and exhaled softly.
Multiple footsteps filled the air as the men marched into the village. There were five of them with one, a little fat with tattoos all over his bald hair, a few steps ahead of the others, Eeor.
"Oohoo, would you look at that boys, they've prepared a welcome party for us," Eeor stated.
The men burst into laughter. "Well, I hope they have my favourite meal available." The five men stopped a few steps in front of Gal with smiles on their faces.
"Gal, my dearest, I've come to collect," he said.
"Well…"
"Unfortunately," Eryth chipped, cutting the dark-haired man short. "We have nothing more to give you. I believe we've given you enough these past days, so… turn around and leave, let this torches be your guiding light out of here."
Eeor moved his eyes from Gal to the dark-haired man, his smile, slowly disappearing. "And you are?"
"The name's Eryth, consider me a spoiler to your plans," he started. "You know you talk big for a guy that works for someone else."
"What?"
"I know you aren't in on this yourself, there must be someone else pulling the strings and ordering you around like the little pussy you are, so who is it? Tell me so I can send your head back to them."
"Oh, would you look at that boys, he's got words, the pretty boy has got a sharp tongue. I don't have time for this, get my goods now Gal."
Eryth closed his eyes and inhaled, then opened them again. "That wasn't just a mere comment, I meant every word I just said, so I'll ask again-- tell me who you work for, so I can send them your head when I'm done."
The bald man turned his full attention and his eyes glowed bright green.
"The Green Eyes," Eryth mumbled.
"Tsk… if only your energy was as much as your mouth and brain works, you would have at least been worth my time..."
"Oh this isn't my energy level, I am actively holding it down because I do not wish to show off, but if you want to see it, very well then."
A very strong wind blew all around putting out the fire on the torches and causing the collectors to stare at Eryth in shock. Unlike Eeor, the other collectors and the villagers could only feel the energy exuding from Eryth's body but it left them picking their jaws from the ground.
"This energy!"
Eeor groaned and carried his axe from behind his back. "You must also be an Illusion Act user. I'll just kill you and find out how much energy you truly have… kill him, men."
The other members of the collectors pulled out their weapons and charged at Eryth, he skillfully parried every attack they threw at him before sending one of them back with a punch that easily knocked him out.
Rune markings appeared around Eryth's wrist and his sword turned black. He bolted towards another member and stabbed the sword into his collarbone, he pulled the sword to the side, leaving the head with no force to hold it up.
The dark brown-haired man slid on the ground and severed another's leg before finally charging at Eeor.
Eeor groaned and gripped his sword tightly. He waited until Eryth was seconds away from hitting him with his sword before teleporting behind Eryth. The bald man grinned wickedly and swung his axe at Eryth's back but the latter managed to turn and parry the attack.
Eeor continued to use his trick, disappearing when Eryth was a second away from hitting him with his weapon before lunging his attack.
"What's wrong pretty boy? Have you lost your voice?"
The dark brown-haired man pulled out his dagger and made his battle stance.
"I will tear you apart, limb by…" Eryth didn't wait for his opponent to finish his words. Rune markings appeared on his dagger as he threw it high up into the air. He then tightened the grip on his sword and bolted forward.
Eeor grinned and also got ready for the attack, but instead of appearing behind Eryth like he normally does, the bald man disappeared and reappeared just after Eryth's sword had passed his location.
"Hah!" He raised his axe and descended it on the dark brown-haired man to split his skull into two, but Eryth also disappeared from his location and appeared where the dagger was with the said dagger in his hand.
"What the…" The Teleportation Act user looked up just in time to catch sight of Eryth tossing his sword at him.
"You'll need to try harder," he hit the sword away only to see the golden dagger with rune markings surrounding it.
The bald man imagined Eryth appearing where the dagger was like he had been doing and took precautions by moving to the side, letting the dagger harmlessly fly past.
Eryth grinned as he faded into the air. The bald man raced towards the dagger, ready to attack immediately the dark brown-haired man appeared, but nothing happened.
While running towards the dagger, his eyes widened in shock as he finally grasped what had happened. He stopped to turn, but it was too late, Eryth's sword plunged through his chest.
"Got you."
Eeor coughed out blood as Eryth pulled his sword out. The dark brown-haired man kicked his knee, forcing the bald man down before severing Eeor's head from its neck.
Eryth picked up the bald head and walked up to the last remaining collector who he only cut off his leg. The man groaned in pain as Eryth tossed his Master's head into his hand.
He curbed down to his level and sighed. "Whoever you work for, tell them: I'm coming for you."
