The man with the plain white mask took off his robe to reveal the armour he had on. The moment he looked back at Eryth, he realized the Dark mage had already made his move and was only seconds from striking with his sword.
Lancelot managed to take a step back just in time to only receive a cut that split his mask in two. He quickly held it steady before the mask fell off.
Arya attempted to step in but the dark brown-haired man stopped her. "No, stay back and help the rest."
Danila moved to heal Blutox but he directed her to help Nkati who lay on the ground motionless.
Blood gushed out of the masked man's hand and flowed to hold the mask up in one piece. He then controlled the blood and shot them as spikes toward the dark brown hair man who redirected it away with his sword.
Eryth charged forward and furiously swung his sword at his opponent, not giving him any chance to think. The masked man used his blood to form a sword of his own and parried an attack.
They continued dodging and parrying each other's attack, sending sparks flying all around as their sword furiously clashed until the masked man's sword shattered into pieces under the force of Eryth's attack.
The man quickly took a step back before clasping his hands together. As he unclasped it, a river of blood poured out to the ground. Eryth stomped his foot on the ground to stop himself before he got to where the blood was but was moving too fast and would be in the pool of blood before he could stop. Rune markings appeared below his legs and propelled him into the air, but his opponent seemed to have expected that much. He clenched his fist and waited until Eryth was seconds away from hitting him before he unclenched it while aiming his hand at the Dark Mage. A dense blood shot out and pierced through Eryth's chest, throwing him back to the ground.
The man waved his hands and several balls of blood rose to the sky above him. "I've seen enough of you." The balls turned long and pointed before launching to Eryth.
Eryth strengthened his body with rune markings. He was severely injured and knew it would be hard to dodge such an attack in his current state so he decided to take it on while simultaneously healing himself with the same markings, but Arya suddenly entered in front of him, taking the hits in his stead. "I told you to stay away."
The emerald green-haired girl coughed out blood. "A… tha…nk you --ould suffice."
She let out a blaring scream as the blood that stabbed into her back turned into liquid and dissolved into her body.
From the masked man's view, he watched as Eryth slid out to the open and began towards him. Seeing that the dark brown-haired man was still a few steps away, he concentrated on Arya and used the blood that was in her to burst her upper body. The remaining part of her falls to the ground.
Eryth yelled out furiously and severed the man's right arm which was outstretched. He then swung another attack which cut through his armor and spilled his blood.
But the dark mage doesn't stop there. Rune Marking appeared around his wrist and his sword turned pitch black. He swung the sword again but this time, Lancelot channelled all the blood that had spilled on the ground and used it as a shield to block the attack. The sword broke through the blood shield at the expense of breaking into two but still dealt a clean cut in Lancelot's throat.
The general of Hex staggered backwards while gripping his bleeding throat. He stopped and suddenly controlled the blood that was gushing out of his neck, turning it into a scythe, but before he could attack Eryth, a large spike popped out of the ground in front of him and plunged into his chest, raising him off his feet until he was hanging motionless midair.
Eryth turned his head to see Danila standing with her hands outstretched. She smiled and crashed to the ground.
"You think it's over?"
The duo simultaneously looked up to see Lancelot dragging himself out of the spike. Once out he jumped down and landed strongly on the ground. "If it were that easy to defeat me, you think I'll be called 'the son of Hex?"
The masked man controlled the blood on the ground and used it to create six arms around himself. The dark brown-haired man groaned as he dragged himself up. He untied the clothes that held the sword to his hand and tossed it away. "Dani…"
[Don't even say it, we are in this together.]
Blutox still sat on the ground unable to move as the effect of the technique Maya used on him got him well. He managed to stretch his hand and grab the Utagri Al which he used to stab his thigh. The blue-skinned man screamed in pain as he stabbed it deeper into his thigh in hopes of countering the 'Silent curse' effect.
Eryth reached for his boot and pulled out his dagger before making his battle stance. "Don't let his attack hit you."
[How do you expect me to dodge his every attack?]
Eryth let out a soft chuckle. "Fair… but then you'll end up with more holes than you should have."
Before she could reply, their opponent launched himself into the sky and landed strongly between them, forcing them to both jump in separate directions. Lancelot turned and charged at what he thought was the bigger threat as he felt a lot of pure energy from her.
He lunged all six arms at her, forcing Danila to only dodge the attack while taking a few cuts here and there. Eryth slid forward to join the fight but got thrown back by a slap from one of the arms. The masked man released one of the arms and turned it into multiple projectiles which rained down at the fairy.
Danila quickly created a kinetic shield to block the attack.
Before merging with her fae goddess, Danila used to be able to only use basic Telepathy, Telekinesis, and Empathy, but with the energy gotten from the merge, she was able to use advanced Telekinesis which involved creating whatever she thought of.
She made a spear appear in her hand before hurling it at her target. Lancelot quickly shifts to the side, letting the spear fly past him.
He swiftly turned to Eryth and formed a being using the blood that spilled on the ground before turning back to Danila. The latter placed her hands on the ground and a forest of vines burst out of the ground, hurling them both into the sky.
Lancelot lost his balance and almost fell off the vines but used one of his arms and brought himself back up. The moment he did, a spear plunged into his chest. He groaned and hit the pink-haired girl back with one of the arms. Her wings popped out and she controlled herself back up. Lancelot dissolved the six arms he had created and launched himself forward. He aimed his left fist at Danila who barely had her full balance and a red projectile like the one he used on Eryth and Arya blast out of his hand.
The pink-haired girl barely moved her head but she wasn't fast enough. The projectile pierced through the side of her neck. She gasped and fell on the vine as blood gushed from her throat.
The Blood Act user felt Eryth's energy approaching behind him and quickly turned to hit him with the same attack only to get his vision blinded by a thick mist.
His vision cleared but he wasn't on a vine anymore and now, he had both his arms. He exhaled softly before looking around the place. He was standing in the middle of a forest.
He reached for his face and found his mask still over his face, but his clothes were now a simple white shirt and a black pant.
"Where am I?" He mumbled to himself.
"Lancelot? Bring the firewood, would ya? Everyone's waiting on us."
He raised his head to look at the speaker. She was a young female with long purple hair which she tied up in a ponytail. She also had purple eyes and wore a simple grey gown and had a blue line that was below her left eye. She was look beautiful. "Gwen?" He mumbled.
"Hurry up."
He looked down to see a stack of firewood at his feet. The masked man had no idea what happened. Just a second ago, he was throwing hands with the dark brown haired man but now he stood in the middle of the woods. He sighed and went on to pick the firewood before following behind the purple-haired girl named Gwen.
She continued until she led him to a village. The girl turned to him and chuckled. "The first one home will start the fire!" She said with a chuckle before racing towards one of the many huts around.
The villagers glanced at them as they ran, all smiling and laughing as they watched the two. The villagers all look human but they each have a blue marking below their left eye like that of Gwen.
Lancelot didn't run, but he picked up his pace to get to the hut faster. He hesitated for a moment before entering the hut. "Looks like you are starting the fire again." She giggled and jumped her way through a door.
The masked man had no idea how to feel, the purple-haired girl that had been speaking to him was his wife, but he had thought her dead, killed when the village he was in at the moment got attacked by a group of bandits. It was the reason he agreed to join hands with Hex who promised to bring his wife and everyone back.
He stood in the same position, thinking-- trying to figure out what was happening.
The purple-haired girl returned to the room with a smile but it faded as she noticed Lancelot still standing in the same position.
"Are you okay?" She queried.
He managed to muster the energy to speak a few words. "What is going on?"
She smiled and held his hand. "I thought you would never ask." She grabbed his hand and pulled him down to a seat.
"I know you are tired, I know you are exhausted, and I know you are fighting for me… but I'm fine, you don't have to go this far for me anymore."
She moved her hand to his face but the light-skinned man moved his head back. She hung her hand midair and smiled. "It's okay, take the mask off."
Lancelot hesitated for a second before he finally leaned forward, letting his wife slowly take off the mask from his face, revealing the blue marking below his dark red eyes. Tears rolled down his eyes as he smiled at his wife.
"Come back to me, I'll be waiting," she mumbled.
His vision got covered by a mist again and when it cleared, he was back at the battlefield with his knees to the ground, Eryth's dagger plunged into his chest and his mask in his hand. He smiled and exhaled softly before raising his head to the sky.
"I'm sorry." His body slowly turned to dust until he was non-existent.
Eryth picked up his dagger and slipped it into his boot. "Are you okay?" Eryth raised his head to see Arya looking at him with her right hand extended forward and her left covering her naked chest. "You are alive?"
"I told you, I cannot die."
He grabbed her hand and she helped him up. The dark brown man rushed to where Danila was and curbed down to heal her only to see her eyes open.
She smiled. "Did you think I was dead?"
He nodded. "I actually did."
She smiled and pulled him in for a hug. "I did too earlier, so I thought I should pay you back for scaring me."
The dark brown-haired man felt a presence no one else did. He veered around to see Rapulnu over Maya's dead body. She spared him a glance before creating a mist and disappearing behind it.
"Eryth? Are you okay?"
He snapped out of his thought and looked at Danila then at Blutox who held his stare with a frown.
"Yes. I'm fine."
