Luna kept pace with the man in front of her, but didn't try to get to close. When he looked back, she checked her phone. No one had texted her, meaning this show would not be cancelled. When she looked up again, the man was sprinting away from her. She growled and ran after him, cornering him in an alley. "Wh-what do you want from me?!" he yelled.
Luna smiled. "Me? I don't want anything. My employer however..." she pulled out a gun and leveled it at the man's chest, cocking the weapon.
"L-listen, I'll d-do anyth-thing, just...don't kill me!"
Luna rolled her eyes. Begging would get him nowhere with her. She was about to pull the trigger when a bubbly voice called, "Luuunaaaa! Where are you sweetheart!"
Luna cringed and called back, "The alley, Mom! Where else would I be?!"
The man looked at her curiously and scrambled away when she was preoccupied with her mom hugging her. When Luna struggled free, she turned back to where the man had been but had no luck finding him. "Dangit Mom! You let him get away! How am I supposed to get my permit if you keep on giving my targets the chance to escape?!"
Luna's mom clucked her tongue. "I'm sorry, sweetheart, but you know when killing you have to be chaperoned. Tell you what, how about when we get home I whip up some of my famous brownies to cheer you up, huh?"
Luna sighed and hung her head. "Ugh. Fine."
Her mom clapped her on the back. "There we go. You'll have that frown turned upside down in no time!"
