I hope I'm not rushing the story now! Please give feedback, it's always appreciated. And thank you to shnuffeluv and Nicole Armas for the promotion and/or feedback! I'll get the next chapter finished soon! I've been a bit busy with finals and getting ready for the college prep thing I'm doing this summer in journalism. Anyway, thanks lovelies!863Please respect copyright.PENANA1BRXuy18gI
“There was something else too. What they did, right?” Flair said after a hesitation that she’d used to digest what he’d said.
“Yeah. It’s pretty messed up though. It, uh, had to do with what they were eating,” Kane said, rubbing the back of his neck.
“What was it? Meat? Was it raw?” she asked.
“Ah, well I guess you could say that. There was another one of the… things… I thought it was dead. The others kind of surrounded it; they were all salivating. They… started tearing the other thing apart. It… wasn’t dead,” Kane stumbled over his words and clenched his hands into fists. Taking a deep breath he continued. “It let out this inhuman noise that sounded like someone screaming with a throat full of gravel mixed with the sound a hyena would make if it were being slowly skinned. It was horrible. The others were ripping it apart and gnawing on the bits they managed to tear off fully. They looked like they were… enjoying it.”
Flair sat there in silence for what seemed like forever, absorbing what Kane had just told her.
“That’s… a pretty messed-up story. Wow,” she said, the words coming out a bit raspy. She wet her lips and cleared her throat.
“It isn’t a story. You can choose to believe me and help me, or you can go around for your entire life oblivious to what’s happening right in front of you,” he retorted. “I’m going to try to sleep for at least an hour. Good night.”
“Wait. I believe that you saw something,” she called. Kane stopped and glanced back at her. “You were probably stressed, and you saw something horrible, but your mind might have stretched the truth.”
“Really? I know what I saw. And I remain calm in most stressful situations by the way. SO you can either help me or you can be oblivious and go about your life without helping all of Pangea Ultimatum,” he snapped.
“Fine, I’ll help. Just tell me what your plan is. What do you need me to do?”

“Well that’s one stupid idea,” Flair told Kane.
“And I suppose you have a better one? Oh, please do tell me, since you’re obviously a genius,” he replied sarcastically.
“Firstly, I actually am a genius, and secondly I do have a better plan,” she retorted. “We actually go into action. We need to get one of these,,, things. We have to find out what’s making them into monsters and who’s doing this. We need to infiltrate the Institute.”
“I have got to say that what you just said is even worse than the plan I proposed. And that’s saying something,” he said. She tilted her head and smiled sympathetically.
“Of course it is. I’m the queen of bad ideas,” she said. Kane sighed and ran a hand through his hair before shrugging.
“Why not then? It’s only a little suicidal,” he muttered sarcastically. Flair stood up and walked over to the door. She pressed her flesh-and-bone hand against the door sensor and it slid open. Rynn, Langdon, and Tash stumbled into the room.
“We… uh… we were going to get a snack,” Tash blurted. Flair smirked and nodded.
“Of course you were. Well are you guys in?” she asked.
“In what? In this room? If so, then yes,” Rynn replied. Flair sighed and shook her head, trying to hide a smile.
“Not what I meant. I know you overheard this plan. And probably the whole story,” she said.
“Darn, you found us out,” Tash said in a mockingly disappointed tone. “Well, I’m in.” Langdon and Rynn both nodded in agreement, voicing affirmatives as well.
A/N: Apologies for the gross descriptions again! Hope you enjoyed this chapter! Finally some real action is coming up! Just saying that Rynn and Tash are my spirit animals. It was really fun to write this chapter, and I hope you all enjoyed! I was originally going to go through Kane's entire plan, which was basically to go in to the Institute and question someone of higher authority, but that made me facepalm as I wrote it, so I decided to not include it because I didn't want to bruise my forehead. Alright, well I should work on that next chapter! Hugs to you lovelies!863Please respect copyright.PENANAkrM2WFZrt5
