I awkwardly smile at them and say 'Good Morning' cause I didn't want to be rude.They put in so much effort for my party every year.But this time, I didn't see Blair and Willow here.
"Aww man! I was really hoping I could smoke you this year." Ruby said teasingly with a malicious smirk on her face.Classic Ruby,I thought to myself.
"Don't worry! You'll get me next year." I said but as soon as I finished my sentence,tree roots came spewing out of the ground and locked me into place.My family seemed horrified.I of course started freaking out because someone might try to kill me and I might be stuck there.
I turned around and saw Blair and Willow walking down the stairs.
"MEREDITH PRESCOTT! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" they both yelled in unison.
I was shocked.Usually,Blair and Willow are always calm but now......I don't even know who they are.They walked down the stairs and stood right beside.Blair gently placed a flower crown on my head and walked over to join the rest of the family.The tree roots let go of my legs and Willow took my hand and escorted me like a princess to the rest of my family.
It slipped my mind.So if you don't know,basically my siblings compete with each other to see who can get the best present for me.Ruby always wins every year.I mean Ruby gets the best gifts ever.Last year,she got me black raven as a pet.The year before that,she got me to a haunted house.
Everybody else gives me stuff like Blair does.Crowns,jewelry,cute notebooks.Not trying to be rude to everyone but I'm not really into that stuff.Im more of a tomboyish kinda person.
My mum and dad gave me warm smiles and hugged me.
"Happy birthday,sweetheart."my mum said.She says this every year and when she does it gives me a wave of sadness. I know I failed as a child to her.That is why nobody dares to talk about me not having powers.
My dad waved his hands together(like forming an orb or something circular)and in front of me appeared a small card.I took the card and opened it.In the card said 'We will always love you' in gold lettering.Again,I don't understand why they love me.I failed to be a perfect child.
"Hey Meredith! Ive got a gift for you too!" Willow yelled.
" Me too!"Ruby yelled.
And then it turned into a war of 'Me too!"s between Ruby,Cecile,Blair,and Willow.Since,Ruby always gets the best gifts,she can go first.
"Ruby can go first"I said very awkwardly.They all stopped arguing at once.To me,it was a total shock because they were arguing so loudly I didn't think they would hear me.
"Aha!I know you would choose me,Meredith.I'll probably win again."Ruby said smugly to the others.
"No way,my flower crown is waaay better."Blair said.This was not going to be a war zone again.I seriously won't let it happen.
"Okay,Ruby.Let's go."I said.My mum hugged me one last time and said"I love you" before Ruby took my hand and lead my up the stairs.
"C'mon,Meredith.You are going to love this!"Ruby said all giddy and excitedly.
"I sure hope so"I said and smiled at her.
