I just thought that now that you know why I write, I'd give you a little background to who I am.
I'm E3kHatena. I've been on the Internet in some form since late 2009, when I joined Flipnote Hatena. That's where the second half of my username came from. The first half is a bit of a convoluted story, but the short of it is that 3K is short for 3000. Take your pick what the E then means.
I have been really interested in some form of creative outlet. As I've previously mentioned, I love creative writing exercises in school and even got a 100% in my Senior year Creative Writing class. The teacher recently emailed me and is using my portfolio as an example for future students, which is really neat. I also run a couple YouTube channels, a Tumblr blog or three, and am enrolled in DePaul University's School of Computing and Digital Media for game design. Looking forward to that.
I am asexual, as in not experiencing sexual attraction towards anyone. I would say that's not important, but I feel that the longer I write, the more and more that comes out in my characters, and realizing this was who I am really felt like a weight off my shoulders. It's a little bit of pride I take in myself, and I personally wouldn't want it any other way. I'm not exactly sure where I fall on the romantic/aromantic spectrum, but maybe I'll sort that out for myself. I encourage everyone figure themselves out, and don't feel discouraged if you don't know where you fit in with any of this stuff.
I play video games. Like, a lot of video games. My interests range wildly. I've struggled with Mario platformers for years but have cleared the entirety of Super Ghouls N' Ghosts in a little over 90 minutes without save states before. I have beaten Terraria on three occasions, each time longer than the last due to the shifting endgame it has had since I started playing. I've been playing TF2 for 4 years and have been trying to get back into Splatoon. If you ever wonder why my last update on here/FictionPress/Tumblr has been a while, check my Steam and the number of hours clocked within the last two weeks.
I accidentally end up getting distracted and procrastinate. Take two guesses what might have sparked putting this on the list.
