Dearest Readers,
It has been one of the most emotional, stressful and exciting journeys that I have ever taken as a writer. Never in my wildest dreams could I ever think I would be able to start and finish writing a novel after so many failed attempts. The story of Morwenna and her struggles was one that I wanted to share about in the form of letters, a style of writing that I just adore and have grown up with from a young age. On November 1st 2017, I started to write this story and would wake up early to type a chapter (or letter) up and updating my document using Google Docs on my iPhone. From this, I learnt how to be organized, passionate and confident with my writing.
Even though I was able to win Nanowrimo 2017 last year, this novel for many days stood unfinished. I was scared to finish it and that I can openly put my hand up and admit to. But one of my New Year’s resolutions was to finish the story I started and move onto new projects with the courage that I could expand my ideas into works that readers can enjoy and connect with. I do have a few thank yous that I would like to make in my closing note:
First, to all of the users on Tablo who have stopped by and favorited my novel, your support means the world to me and we managed to trend on the site! That was something I never could have thought would come true. Next, to all of the users on Twitter and Goodreads who have promoted my works and extra credit to the writers on the #TurtleWriters hashtag on Twitter who messaged me with their feedback. Finally, to my friends, family and partner for supporting me during this process and encouraging me to finish Letters To Myself. Your love means such a lot to me.
This is not the end, only the beginning.
