It was a beautiful day, as Katherine stood in front of a mirror, trying to fasten the zipper on a dress, when Elijah appeared at the door behind her.
“Would you like some help?” he inquired of her.
Katherine gave an inviting smile to him that told him to do so.
“Allow me,” Elijah said.
A moment later, he stood behind her and began to fasten the zipper and buttons.
“Thanks,” she said.
“I think you look lovely,” he complimented her.
“I know,” she said, dismissing it. She already knew how she looked and it wasn’t like she and Elijah were together, nor would they ever be together again.
“Well, I don’t suspect any of the riff-raff here would dare lay a hand on you, knowing you’re under the protection of my family. Still, you shouldn’t take any chances,” he warned her, concerned for her safety as always. If it were up to him, which it wasn’t as long as Klaus was King of New Orleans, the riff-raff would’ve been cast out along with Marcel. “If you want to attend the festivities tonight, I would be more than willing to take you,” he then invited.
“You and Klaus are barely on speaking terms. Let’s not rock the boat, okay? Like you said. Let’s not take any chances,” she replied to him.
“Of course,” he replied in agreement.
Elijah turned to leave and she watched through the mirror, as he did so.
Rebekah was in a clothing shop in the French Quarter, searching for a dress she could wear for the festival, when Marcel appeared behind her.
“Talking about the clothes, or something else?” he asked, having heard her muttering to herself, as she looked through the clothes.
“Why, feeling insecure? The festival might as well be in my honor. I need a proper costume, so bugger off.”
“Bekah,” he began, and attempted to touch her, and she threw his arm off.
“Don’t,” she told him coldly. “You made your choice. You and Klaus are best friends again, you’ve relinquished your right to touch me.”
Marcel’s phone started to ring.
“I wonder who that could be,” she said sarcastically, knowing all who well whom that could possibly be.
“What’s up?” Marcel questioned when he answered Klaus’ call.
“A bit of an issue. It seems our little bird has flown the coop,” Klaus informed him, as he paced around the compound courtyard.
Later, Klaus and Marcel met in the living room discussing their current predicament.
“You don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to know the obvious. Our secret weapon has escaped,” Klaus said.
“She wouldn’t just leave. She knows the witches want her back,” Marcel reasoned with him.
Elijah appeared from around the corner and Marcel turned towards him.
“Her violin is missing. She may have left of her own volition,” Elijah said.
“What did you say to her in the attic? She lied to my face so she could stay up there, thinking that you’d help her control her magic. How do we know you didn’t take her?” Marcel accused him.
“I have no idea where Davina is, or why she ran away. Can I suggest you take a step back?” Elijah replied.
Marcel eyed him for a moment before turning away.
“I can assure you I have absolutely no desire to see that child come into harm’s way. She’s suffered enough with this Harvest ritual nonsense,” Elijah continued.
“That child, to whom you refer to so affectionately, is the most powerful witch in New Orleans. If she’s fled, what’s to stop her from destroying us? In fact, destroying all we’ve worked for? No, if she’s not a friend to this family, then she is our enemy,” Klaus replied.
“She is a friend, Klaus,” Marcel assured him.
“Well, let’s hope so. Lucky for you, I know how to get her back. Follow my lead,” Klaus replied, before leaving.
Marcel was about to follow Klaus, but Elijah stopped him.
“You know how Niklaus operates. If he perceives a threat, he can become quite ruthless. This would not bode well for Davina,” he warned him.
“I’m not going to let anybody lay a finger on her,” Marcel replied.
“Nor will I,” Elijah replied back.

Katherine and Rebekah were rifling through several old chests of clothes while they searched for a Casket Girls festival outfit to wear.
“So the witch is missing, huh?” Katherine said.
“Walked right out of the front door, apparently. Know anything about it?” Rebekah replied, considering Katherine normally knew things before anyone else.
“No, although I did tell her that the elder is dead,” she informed her.
“Well, why would she care, when the witches tried to kill her in their ritual?” Rebekah questioned.
“I think it was more that Marcel didn’t tell her that the one thing preventing her from being free had been eliminated.”
“So you are the reason she’d run off,” Rebekah accused.
“Hey, I was just telling her the truth. She’s the one who realized they were just using her to keep their control over the witches,” Katherine defended.
“Yeah, well, I’ve never been a fan of the boys club. Just wait, Elijah will join them and the three of them will be impossible,” Rebekah replied.
They watched Marcel and Klaus on the balcony as they muttered quietly to each other.
“Used by the witches, lied to by Marcel, manipulated by Elijah, threatened by Klaus. Just like a modern-day Casket Girl,” Rebekah commented.
“Are you talking about Davina or yourself?” Katherine asked.
“Does it matter? Either way, us girls have got to stick together,” Rebekah replied.
Katherine had nothing to say to that. It was strange for Rebekah to say that to her, considering she’d despised Katherine for so long.

Davina was at Cami’s apartment still. After succeeding in undoing Klaus’ compulsion from Cami, she gave Cami water mixed in with liquefied vervain to keep Cami on vervain so Cami couldn’t be compelled ever again.
Suddenly, Davina had a vision.
Cami stood up, concerned for her.
“Davina?”
“Someone’s practicing magic. They’re trying to find me,” Davina informed her.
“Then we have to run,” Cami said.
“There is no way to sneak me out of the Quarter. By now, everyone’s looking for me----the witches, Marcel, Klaus,” Davina informed her.
“My uncle will know what to do,” Cami suggested to her.
“Cami,” Davina said sympathetically.
Cami interrupted her.
“I mean, he has to know some of what’s going on in this town, right?”
“Cami, stop,” Davina said.
“Unless he’s been compelled,” Cami said.
“He knows,” Davina informed her.
“What are you talking about?” Cami said, confused.
“He knows. He works with Marcel. They’re practically friends. I hear them talk. He knows everything,” Davina informed her.
“No. He would’ve told me if he knew the witches put a hex on my brother,” Cami said.
Davina didn’t say anything when Josh walked in, silent.
“He knows?” Cami questioned.
“Cami,” Davina said.
“Oh, my God. He knows,” she realized.
Cami sat down and Davina rushed to comfort her.
Josh invited them to take his car so Davina could go so she wouldn’t be found.
Davina smiled and nodded before both of them left.
Katherine was walking through the courtyard with two of Klaus’ vampire guards behind her. She turned around to look at them, clearly annoyed at them.
“I know Klaus told you to follow me, but does that really mean you have to follow me to the bathroom?”
The two guards crossed their arms over their chests as Katherine’s phone rang. She took her phone out and saw that Sophie was calling her.
Katherine gave a smile. “Give me two minutes. It’s my gynecologist,” she lied to them, before entering the garage and shutting the door before answering the phone. “What the hell do you want?”
“I know you don’t trust me, but you need to listen. Everything is about to change. Davina’s on the loose,” Sophie informed her.
“Figured that out on your own, huh? Remind me again why I should care?”
“I need something from you so that the witches can complete the Harvest.”
“On what planet would I help you witches get more power? All you’ve done is hex me left and right.”
“You’ll help me because if we don’t complete the Harvest, our access to magic will fade for good for the wolves. Marcel forced a witch to curse them so they’d be trapped in wolf form.”
“And I should keep listening to you because…?”
“Because my bloodline executed that curse. Help me complete the Harvest, and I’ll undo the curse.”
“But what can I do?”
“I need to consecrate the remains of a powerful witch so I can absorb their magic. I know of one whose body was never found. Her name is Celeste DuBois. I believe you and she have a friend in common? Story goes that when she died, Elijah buried her in a secret spot at her request. All you have to do is find out where.”
Katherine hung up and sighed, conflicted. She wanted to help the wolves, but Elijah would never tell her something personal like that. That meant she’d have to go through some journals of his and do it without permission. She didn’t want to be raiding his privacy, but it had to be done if she wanted to help the wolves out.
Davina and Cami were inside the church, hiding from Klaus and his search party which involved Marcel as far as they knew.
“We should keep moving. How long do we have to wait?” Davina said.
“Give it a few minutes, then I’ll check to see if the coast is clear,” Cami replied.
Cami’s phone rang and she picked it up when she saw that it was Josh.
“Josh, sorry I missed your calls.” She paused to listen to what he had to say and then said, “What?”
“Look, I didn’t want to tell you, but I know Klaus. If Davina doesn’t show up, he’ll kill Tim,” Josh informed her.
“We’ll think of something. Make your way to the Quarter. Stay hidden. We’ll text your when we have a plan.”
Cami hung up.
“I have to go,” Davina said to her.
“Davina, wait,” Cami said.
“I can’t let Tim die,” Davina said.
Davina sensed another flash of magic.
“What’s wrong?” Cami questioned.
“The witches,” Davina replied.
A moment later, the doors opened and three witches whom were led by Sabine, walked in, dressed in black and chanting something. The spell was so powerful that Cami was thrown against a wall and knocked out.
“NO!” Davina said furiously, before throwing her arms out in front of her and the foundation of the church shook. Davina levitated the witches high into the air and Sabine looked at Davina in fear before Davina violently flicked both of her wrists, snapping the necks of all three of the witches. As soon as Davina dropped them to the ground, she rushed over to Cami, whom was still out. “Cami?”
Cami didn’t awaken.
Davina was furious and stomped out of the church.
Katherine returned to the plantation house with the two vampire bodyguards in tow. Once they entered the foyer, Katherine turned to them as she headed up the stairs.
“I’m just grabbing some clothes. Give me two minutes, please?”
The guards went to stand outside the front door, and once they were gone, Katherine went into the study where Elijah’s trunk full of journals and personal effects were kept. She pulled out his journal from the 1820’s and skims the pages for anything pertaining to Celeste.
“I am so sorry, Elijah,” she said guiltily for doing this.
Davina entered the compound.
“You got me here. Now let him down,” Davina ordered Klaus.
“Well, first, we have to have a little chat about you returning to the fold,” Klaus replied.
Marcel turned to Klaus. “What did I say, Klaus? I got this.” He turned to Davina. “D, what happened? Why’d you run? Talk to me. Hey, I can make it right.”
“How, by threatening my friend?” she accused.
“Actually, that was my idea. Apologies. I’ve been known to go too far to make a point. But I do always get results,” Klaus intervened.
“You pretend to be so confident, but I know the truth. You’re afraid everyone can see what you really are----an animal.” She cast a pain infliction spell that brought him to his knees, and he groaned in pain. “A beast. Why don’t you show us your real face?” She magically forced Klaus to partially transform into a werewolf before snapping his neck. “That’s enough of you.”
“Davina, you don’t have to do this,” Elijah reasoned with her.
“You! You looked me in the eyes and lied to my face. Pretended you wanted to help me.”
“Listen to me,” Elijah tried, but she cut him off.
“You call yourself the noble one, but you’re a killer just like your brother. For 1,000 years you’ve fed on innocent blood. Why don’t you choke on it?” She cast a spell on Elijah that caused him to choke on the blood he had consumed before everything went black for him. Then she turned to Marcel who actually looked frightened of her for once. “And you! I trusted you. I loved you, but you were just using me to stay in power. You don’t care about me.”
“You’re wrong,” Marcel pleaded with her.
“When you lost to Klaus, you handed me over like some trophy. Maybe I should boil you in bronze.”
“I care. I took you in like you were my own blood.”
Rebekah suddenly appeared and stabbed Marcel through the chest with a wrought-iron poker. He choked for a moment before everything went black for him as well.
“Come on now, love. Don’t tell me you were falling for that. Isn’t it time for us girls to have a chat?” She looked around at the neutralized bodies of Klaus, Elijah, and Marcel. “Now, that is impressive. And well-deserved in my opinion.” Davina looked at her suspiciously. “Now, before you turn on me, I have a surprise for you.”
Josh entered the courtyard.
“Josh, what are you doing? Get out of here.”
Rebekah grabbed Josh by the throat.
“What are you doing?” Josh questioned.
“Now, if I were Klaus, I would rip Josh’s head from his neck, feed it to a nightwalker, and that would be the end of your friend. But hurting people is such a boyish thing to do. I like how Klaus compelled your fiddler on the roof. And, while I am many things, I’m certainly not my brother. It’s okay, Timothy. You can come down. No one is gonna hurt you,” Rebekah said.
“He told me I couldn’t climb down off this beam,” Tim replied.
“Then don’t climb, silly! Am I the only smart one in the room? Jump,” she replied.
Tim jumped down and Rebekah caught him before gently setting him onto the floor. Tim rushed over to Davina.
“Davina, how did you do all that? How did I even get here?” he questioned.
“I’ll explain everything. I promise.” She turned to Rebekah. “Why are you doing this?”
“Seems to me that you’re the one holding all the cards, but you don’t know who to trust. I’ve just proven that you can trust me. Now I’d like to show you one more thing. Won’t take long. You can bring your friends.”
Rebekah took Davina, Time, and Josh down into the Garden.
“You think my brother Nik is awful? Marcel learned from the best. This is how he treats his so-called friends who betray him. Most of what these poor souls did is no worse than what Josh did. Take Thierry, for example. He was Marcel’s most trusted friend. Klaus tricked him into breaking one of Marcel’s rules. Marcel knows this, and yet he keeps Thierry locked in here day after day, suffering,” Rebekah informed them, though Josh already knew about the Garden.
“This is insane,” Tim commented.
“Why are you telling me this?” Davina asked her.
“Because you need to know who you’re dealing with, who you can trust. Davina, both you and I have been lied to and taken advantage of by Marcel and Klaus. Maybe together, we can get a little payback,” Rebekah said.
Davina took a drink from some water Tim had.
A moment later, Tim started coughing and fell to his knees.
“Tim?” Davina questioned worriedly.
“It was Klaus. He made me do it. I didn’t even know what I was doing until I made you—-“
“Made her what?” Rebekah asked.
“Drink,” Tim said.
“Tim?” Davina said.
“Klaus poisoned the water,” Rebekah realized.
Suddenly, Davina started to get dizzy too, and she fell to the floor, coughing.
“Davina? Oh, no,” Josh said.
Elijah, Marcel, and Klaus woke up on the floor of the courtyard after their wounds had begun to heal.
“Well, isn’t this monumentally awkward,” Elijah commented.
Rebekah pulled out his phone and called her.
“Rebekah, where are you?”
“I’m with Davina, and she’s dying because of your treachery,” she replied.
“Well, I tried to talk to her, out of respect for Marcel, but she made it quite clear she is not our friend. My apologies if you thought she was yours.”
“Just tell me how to cure her. Vampire blood isn’t working.”
“No. It wouldn’t. You see, the poison I compelled Timothy to feed her is quite potent. It’s just a matter of time for her.”
“For both of them, you diabolical bastard. They’re children. We couldn’t dealt with her fairly,” she replied.
“There is no dealing with those who threaten us. Davina sealed her fate when she stood against me. This was her choice, not mine,” Klaus said, before hanging up.
Elijah and Marcel looked at him with anger.
Klaus rolled his eyes.
“Oh, come on. The stench of your judgment is overwhelming. Need I remind you that Davina just bested the lot of us? I did what had to be done. Don’t worry, Elijah. I remain as redeemable as ever.”
“So you compelled that boy to poison Davina without consulting Marcel or myself,” Elijah said.
“You know what the worst part is? It’s that you’re so predictable, I had to make an alliance with your brother, who I don’t even like,” Marcel said.
“Judging by your expression, you have something you’d like to share,” Klaus said, not amused.
“Darn straight, I do. I got a call from Kieran earlier, right after Sabine and some witches almost got their hands on Davina first.”
“So, when you slipped away to allegedly check on your nightwalkers, you were, in fact, colluding with a witch. That’s very clever. I suppose I should be proud,” Klaus commented.
“Eh, I just wanted to make sure I had a fail-safe just in case, as Elijah expected, you started acting like you.”
“Except that now you’ve involved the witches, who, last time I checked, were enemy to us all, to everything we have, and to our family.”
“Davina is Marcel’s family, Niklaus, or did that somehow slip your mind as you tried to take her life? You will call Rebekah. You’ll tell her that Davina will recover. I do wish the same could be said for that boy,” Elijah demanded of Klaus.

Later, Rebekah took Davina back to the compound and Marcel took Davina to her room. As Marcel did so, Rebekah glared at Klaus, before walking away.
Marcel was seated on Davina’s bedside, when Elijah walked in.
“She’ll never trust me again,” Marcel commented.
“Perhaps,” Elijah pondered. “You must never surrender the fight to reclaim that trust,” he replied. It was almost like he was talking about both their situation and his own with Katerina.
Elijah saw some of Davina’s artwork nearby and started to look through it. He came upon a stack of charcoal sketches and started to examine them more closely.
“These drawings, what are they?”
“She drew those the whole time she was in the attic. Said they’re different than what she draws when she senses magic. These ones, she called them evil,” Marcel informed the elder Mikaelson.

Katherine walked into the parlor to see Elijah still poring over Davina’s sketches. He started sorting the various sketches out and began arranging them in a pattern on the coffee table.
“You okay?” she inquired, having heard about what Davina had done to them all earlier.
“I’m better now. How was your day?”
“Killer. What with the artwork?”
“Davina’s sketches. I wonder if they represent some kind of premonition. They seem to suggest something is coming. Something sinister,” he explained to her.
After Elijah finished sorting them, the pieces were put in place and she and Elijah stood over them, recognizing what the picture was of; Elijah’s ex-girlfriend Celeste.
Meanwhile, Sophie had just finished digging up Celeste’s grave to uncover a coffin with a painted photo of Celeste on the lid. Sophie smiled happily.
“Hello, Celeste.”
