It was a dark night in Galway, Ireland in 1753, as Liam walked through the streets after leaving the bar. He was a husband and merchant, but had recently become a drunk. His father didn’t approve, who was a very religious man, but he and his sister, Kathy, had a very close bond to one another. Life wasn’t treating him well. All he ever wanted was to find someone “exciting” and to see the world.
Suddenly, he stopped, seeing a figure in the shadows of an alley.
He staggered drunkenly towards the figure, who turned out to be a beautiful girl. She was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.
As they stood in the dark alley, he found himself telling her what he wanted out of life, and she promised him the world. Then they began to make out, before he felt fangs in the side of his neck. Then everything went black.
When twenty-six year old Liam woke up, Darla told him what he was and explained everything. Then they went to his family’s place, where his sister answered and invited them both inside. Then he fed from and killed Kathy and then his mother, and lastly his father. Because Kathy had called his face “the face of an angel,” he decided to change his name to Angelus.
After leaving Galway, he and Darla slaughtered many from Wales and Northern England, before arriving in London in 1760.
After Angelus met the Master and mocked him, as well as confronted Darla about choosing to stay underground, Darla left with Angelus, temporarily abandoning the Master.
