“That was a beautiful story,” Violet said.
Daniel smiled. He liked that she called it a story instead of just a normal movie. She gave it a little bit of life. “You remind me of Holly. Not the look, just the behavior.”
“Really?” she said with an eyebrow raised. “How?”
“You’re both kind of wild and free spirit.”
She shrugged. “I guess.”
“Do you want to watch another movie?”
“Sure,” she shrugged. “What do you have?”
“I have the newest Pixar-“
“Pixar? Like, Disney? How old do you think I am?” she stood up on the couch with a hand on the hip.
“I want to say an adult but I am not sure at this point. 14? 13?”
“Excuse me? I am young lady! Not some little teen!” she said.
Daniel pushed her gently and she fell on the couch. Daniel let out a huge laugh. She looked up, and saw that he was smiling and laughing. It seemed like it was a rare thing for him to do. She smiled at him for him actually laughing. She felt him loosing up, and instead of getting anger and saying something hateful to hurt him back, she let him laugh at her. She let him be happy and win.
“Jerk,” she joked.
He was still laughing. “I just couldn’t help it.”
“You’re lucky I’m down here, I could kick your ass so easily! You’re lucky I’m going easy on you,” she said.
“Come on, Pixar movie or not?”
“Sure,” she said flipping herself off the couch. She was now lying on the ground. Daniel couldn’t help to laugh. “By the way, I’m turning 21 in a few months, so mind you.”
“God, you look so young,” Daniel wrinkled his nose. “You’re an odd little duck,” he said putting the movie in.
“Odd little duck!?” she questioned with her head shooting up.
“Quack, quack,” Daniel mocked her.
“Quack,” she agreed. They both laughed.
