"Ella," I called out to Ella's figure at the end of the hallway, "I need to speak to you. Meet me in my room."
"Yes, Aegrov," she responded, following me to my room. We entered my room and I closed the door. Whatever it was that Alician was worried about must have been about this whole boat-code thing. I supposed I would have to be secretive.
I gestured for Ella to sit down on my bed, and I myself took a seat on my desk chair and spun around to meet Ella in the eye. I spoke, "Alice said something about asking you about 'Starboard'."
She solemnly nodded, saying, "You must kill the boy."
"... That's all?"
"No. There is more."
"And that is?"
"... The boy, he... the boy is evil." She spoke in her language. That means something bad's up and coming.
"How so?" I responded in sync.
"He's an enemy. That's all I'm supposed to tell you."
"Ella, why in God's name would I kill him if I don't know why?"
"... This is for your sister. Please just cooperate."
"Tell me the details."
She was silent. She visibly began pondering, swaying her head from side-to-side as if she were trying to flow an answer into her mind. Eventually, she spoke up. "I will tell. You will listen. This is not good. Not good at all."
"Speak, chadaheir." My dear friend.
"The boy is part of the Union. He plans to overthrow the government. The whole mutant project on the island is a plot of the Union. They plan to become a part of your family, so that they can own the town and militaries, or to simply kill your family. This is an uprising." She spoke too fast that I was wondering if I was hearing things.
"Union? Overthrow? Murder? Uprising? What?"
"All I must say. Alice would be waiting for me now. Master would not enjoy my speaking..."
"What?"
I sat dumbfounded after what I just heard. I allowed Ella to leave, and I just sat on my desk chair facing my bed for minutes upon end. I pondered if I should tell my father, or confront the boy. Or something else? What choices were there, and which should I choose? Should I really just assassinate the boy? No, I shouldn't. It's too easy to get caught. I would have to lure him out to the farm fields and kill him there. He would eventually be discovered if I don't bury his body somewhere. But then again, how does Ella know of this information? More importantly, how in God's name does Alician, of all people, know about this? Where is the logic in all of this? Why should I even act? When should I act?
I should confront Alice and ask her questions. After that, I might as well find the boy and talk to him. If he tries anything, he dies.
Then again, I could just procrastinate and get the mechanic to fix my air-conditioning machine. I'll also lecture her, because whenever she fixes it it's always exactly one month's time before I need to pay her to fix it again. Yes, I'll procrastinate for now.
