Ten minutes later, we were in the bathroom. Carrie’s body was still in the same place. Two forensics members were working on her. Cuthbert was there, along with Joshua and Derek.
“Sorry for calling you two here again. I just need you to quickly tell me how you discovered the body,” Adrian said, addressing the two witnesses. “I need to clear something up.”
“Well, Derek and I, we had to kick seven times to get that bloody door open. We rushed inside, Rachel following us closely. Then we saw a figure inside that shower glass,” Joshua said.
“I opened the shower door, turned off the water and proceeded to check her pulse. She was dead. So, I had Joshua call the police. I didn’t have my mobile with me,” Derek said.
“That’s true, what he said,” Joshua confirmed.
“Hmm. One more thing Joshua, what do you think of the whole scenario? I mean, what was the first thing you thought when you saw that body inside the shower cubicle?” Adrian asked.
“Well, I thought the poor girl had slipped and probably hit her head or something,” Joshua answered. He looked at Adrian who was staring back with a piercing gaze. “Why are you staring at me like that?” Joshua asked, obviously discomforted.
“I’m thinking. Everyone who first saw the body thought it was an accident. And what do people do when they see an accident? They call an ambulance. Then why is it that you Mr. Derek asked Joshua to call the police?” Adrian asked, suddenly shifting his focus to Derek.
Derek started stammering as everyone’s gaze turned to him.
Adrian smirked. “I’ll answer why. Because you knew she’d been murdered. And how’d you know that? You murdered her.”859Please respect copyright.PENANAQKzsU8EMK0
