Back in the 2000s, I liked to keep my writing to myself. I was only in Primary School but in English lessons, the one thing that I was found to be good at was writing short stories which got me thinking about longer pieces of writing. From that point on, I was determined to write a novel.
There was one problem though. If I was to write on, would I let the people I know and love read it? Or, would I stumble around and put it up on the internet for a complete group of strangers? I chose the second option.
In 2012, I was starting to get fed up with myself for not taking that step and getting my writing known. I've never really had a lot of self-esteem so that was why I felt shy and scared about what might happen but instead of dwelling on the negatives, I opened my first online account on the site Wattpad originally to write Poetry and Short Stories. But in the space of just three months, that was all starting to change. And in the next part, you will discover how joining online writing sites have boosted my confidence plus my English grades!
