I was introduced to the site by the mum of my ex-boyfriend last year. She watched a lot of crime dramas and wrote fanfictions based off them and really recommended it. Now, I'm more of an original fiction writer rather than a Fanfiction one but then again, I don't mind working on new genres every now and then. I made the decision when joining not to use my name Scarlett. This was because I used to have a Fanfiction account on Wattpad under the name LenaSkyeRose so that was the name that I adapted for AO3.
The site is still in beta form at the moment but I still found it easy to get around. What was the most surprising thing about AO3 was the number of fandoms for all of the different categories on offer like musicians and bands, celebrities, TV shows, books. Every fandom that you could ever possibly imagine were right there in front of your eyes and in their thousands too. I've tried writing my own stuff but since I am on Wattpad working on other projects, I don't really have a lot of time to work on fanfictions. I also worry when I write them because I don't want to portray a celebrity in the wrong way. Seeing One Direction kidnapped me stories made me cringe. The fandoms that I mainly write under are: One Direction, 5SOS, 30 Seconds to Mars and a TV show that I sometimes watch called Dance Moms. I know, I'm getting old for Dance Moms now but I love dancing. I can't do it myself due to various health issues that I've had in my life but I like to watch it and in particular, any acrobatic routine simply because of the tricks. I like tricks.
I'm not on there often but when I am, I like to read other fanfictions and smile because they are entertaining and fun. Would recommend for any Fanfiction lovers and writers.
