Their battle with Arlo progressed to a field outside of the city where they could freely use their gifts to their fullest potential. Hanako had yet to arrive, so Amaris could not obliterate Arlo. He began to grow on her nerves like a annoying insect that needed to be squashed. Arlo started to wear down Wani and Beatrice, who had been desperately trying to subdue him long enough for Hanako's arrival. Amaris watched from the sidelines in silence, her eyes examined his every move. Their presence in the Normal realm had alerted Earth's human authorities and this realm's protectors. Arlo smirked before he morphed through the ground. Wani looked up at the sky with a menacing expression. Beatrice scowled before turning to Amaris, whose face darkened with rage. A jet slowly landed in the middle of the field while two beings escorted a man in a black suit towards them. The beings were not from this realm, nor this planet. They were identical twins, a boy and girl, with blonde hair, green eyes, and pale skin. The girl had long wavy hair while the boy had loose curly hair that fell into his eyes. They both were tall and skinny with a facade as runway models, but they secretly worked as guards for the President and his cabinet. Wani stepped forward with a deranged expression, she pointed at them.
"Excuse me, ladies. May I ask you to return to your realm? You are traumatizing my people." The man said with a hearty laugh.
Beatrice scowl deepened, "Wani."
Wani slammed her brass knuckles together, creating a thunderous sound, "I shall take care of these pests." She raced forward at an alarming man.
The girl quickly intercepted her attack and sent her flying backwards. Beatrice caught her by her extended arm, she spun them around to redirect Wani's path of attack. Wani knocked the girl down, she sat on the girl's chest to pin her down. The girl stared at her emotionlessly. The boy moved to remove Wani, but Beatrice appeared in front of him while wagging her finger in his face. The man pressed his right index and middle finger to his right ear and ordered the jet to strike them down. A wall of golden flames swallowed the measly human bullets in an instant, it devoured the jet as well. Beatrice and Wani immediately stopped fighting when they felt the air thicken with heat. Amaris stepped forward while tilting her head to the side.
"My Ward removed all human life from the surrounding vicinity. We led our enemy to this abandoned field to preserve your city's structures. Now leave." Amaris boomed loudly.
The man looked at her with beads of sweat forming on his forehead, "Amaris, why have you returned to our realm?"
"It is none of your concern, Elam. Take your pets and be on your way." She barked.
Wani stood up, "Your Majesty." Her expression hardened as she spoke in a low tone.
Amaris sighed, "I am aware of her presence, Wani. A battle between the strongest beings will ensue, do not interfere unless you court death, Elam. Alexandra, and Alexander, you are unfit for this battle. If you are incapable of handling my Ward then you will surely perish. It is futile." She declared.
"Amaris is correct, Mr. Elam, you must leave immediately. Wani and I will guide you to where the Evacuees are located. We will protect you there." Beatrice quickly added.
Alexander scowled at them, "You are not the strongest, how dare you doubt our abilities."
Wani grabbed him by his face in the blink of an eye, "Listen, boy. Behave yourself, or I will crush you." She venomously sneered through gritted teeth.
"Amaris, you owe me a detailed explanation once this mess is finished. Make sure to clean up after yourself." Elam ordered before turning to leave.
Alexandra followed after him, which made Alexander shoot Amaris a glare. Beatrice glanced at Amaris, who nodded her head as a form of reassurance. They quickly left to the location of the evacuees. Amaris glanced around the field with a blank expression. A light tap on her shoulder from Alice made her turn around, they stared at one another in disgust.
"Tempus child." Amaris muttered in disdain.
"Laura's lost her mind." Alice stated while rolling her eyes.
Amaris raised a brow, "Explain."
"I presume Iria told you she has chosen both the corruption as well as the light inside of her," Alice continued after Amaris nodded her head, "Laura rescued Hanako from the Earth's clutches while simultaneously wielding both sides. I theorize, she will stop at nothing to change Hanako's fate. Including killing all of us before we have the opportunity to subdue her." She explained quickly in a desperate tone.
"Then what do you suppose I do? Kill her," Amaris scoffed, "Laura plays a crucial part in Hanako's fate! As well as the rest of ours!" She shouted angrily.
"Iria can remove the corruption from inside of her." Alice hurriedly suggested.
"Corruption cannot be removed by the one who placed it there, idiot. I will have to remove it by force. Cleansing one's being is extremely taxing, plus I have wasted my energy entertaining that fool! If Hanako fails to regain the Earth's trust, who will stop Arlo?" Amaris snapped.
Alice glared at her, "I cannot."
"Of course, your father's word is everything." Amaris rolled her eyes.
"Do not speak ill of my father, Amaris. You know nothing of his true power." Alice sneered with a menacing expression.
"You will help Hanako, even if it means defying your father. I will remove Laura's corruption. Iria has already returned to that thing's side, so you have no choice but to aid in fixing Hanako's fate. You know what will happen if one of our fate's become misaligned with the flow of time." Amaris spat while pushing Alice out of her way.
Alice scowled at her, "You do not understand what will happen to my fate if I help Hanako. My father is not a forgiving man, Amaris. I cannot help her." She yelled as Amaris walked away.
"Then make him fear you, after all are you not the strongest of all time children?" Amaris mocked her by laughing.
Alice eyes turned red with rage, "HE WILL TAKE EVERYTHING AWAY FROM ME!" She yelled at the top of her lungs.
Amaris abruptly stopped walking, she vanished seconds before reappearing in front of Alice. She grabbed her by her neck as she lifted her in the air with a menacing expression.
"You broke all ten laws of time, it is not my fault you continuously brought your mother back from the dead. Do not mock me by selfishly crying about your shortcomings. Your father will face death, so why must you insist on behaving as his dog?" Amaris scoffed in annoyance before dropping Alice.
"How do you know I broke all ten laws of time?" Alice croaked while rubbing her burned throat.
"Evans informed me without charge, he is not fond of time beings under their parent's command running amuck in his realm." Amaris stated with a shrug of her shoulders.
Alice scowled at her, "I hope your death is as horrible as they come."
"I will never die, we know how my fate will unravel." Amaris smirked at her.
"Amaris, please. Do not make me help." Alice pleaded, her eyes widened in horror when Amaris flung a ball of golden fire inches away from her head.
Amaris stared at her in disgust, "Shut your sniveling mouth, you will obey my command." She barked.
Alice lowered her head, "Forgive me." She muttered while balling her fists at her sides.
"It is your fate after all." Amaris chimed with devious smile that only made Alice feel worse.
They began to walk towards the woods in silence as their fates slowly unwinded before their very eyes.
