Night had fallen as Nyx carried the Moon across the cloudless sky. Meanwhile, Arlo watched her from the ground with his head tilted back. He had grown tired of this cat and mouse game that refused to come to an end. What was to come? Who would be the one to defeat him? Arlo knew of his fate like they knew of theirs, it is rare for an Abandoned being to not learn of their fate at a young age. When they stray from their destined path, many will court death or suffer an immense ordeal. However, few have survived leaving the path that would define their lives forever and always.
"Oi." An unfamiliar female voice spoke in an Australian accent.
As Arlo slowly turned to face the woman, a fist collided with his face, which sent him flying into a tree behind him. He lifted his head at the same time a black leather boot struck him in the same place. The girl held him down with her foot placed against his chest. She knelt beside him with a blank expression as she squeezed his face with her right hand. She forced him to look at him.
"Chanmi." Another female voice firmly spoke, but she had no foreign accent.
The girl hesitantly lifted her leg, "Piece of shit." She spit on his cheek as she walked away.
A girl with long black hair and yellow eyes cleared her throat, "Hello, my name is Carter Gray. This is Jo Chanmi. We were born in the Normal realm, but wield unimaginable power. Dare I say, stronger than yours." Carter informed him with small grin.
Chanmi snickered, "Her Majesty called for the Earth Walker to tell you to fuck off." She stated.
Carter sighed, "Although, she used less vulgar words." She muttered to herself.
Arlo slowly sat up while wiping away Chanmi's spit with the back of his hand, "Of course she did, she is an extremely bothersome being." He chuckled.
"The most powerful to exist since the Time Gods' Creator of the Multiverse. Do you fear her child, by chance?" Carter tilted her head to the side.
Arlo scowled at her, "Never."
Carter hummed, "Chanmi."
Chanmi stood taller before charging at Arlo, she wrapped her arm around his neck and held both his arms above his head. She pulled out a combat knife and pressed it against his throat. Carter slowly approached him with a long annoyed groan.
"The ancestors want to see you perish," she said with a smile on her face, "they want you to pay for your crimes against the Earth." Carter pointed at him with her index finger.
Chanmi chortled, "My old ass Granddad wants your head on a sparkly platter. He's fucking livid about some shit that happened all those years ago, mate. He remembers everything." She whispered to him with a mischevious grin.
"The ancestors can piss off just like your grandfather." Arlo angrily snapped at them.
Chanmi glanced at Carter, who shook her head in response. Chanmi released Arlo with a blank expression. Arlo shot her a glare as she walked back to Carter's side. Chanmi tapped Carter on her shoulder before throwing her thumb over her shoulder to gesture to Laura and Hanako. Carter glanced at Laura with a disgusted scowl before flicking Arlo in the forehead. The force from one flick sent him flying backwards. Chanmi's face lit up with excitement as she followed Carter, who led them past Laura and Hanako. Laura and Carter made eye contact briefly before she disappeared within the brush of the woods.
Hanako shuddered, "I despise that child of the Earth." She muttered under her breath.
Arlo slowly sat up with a blank expression, "My dearest, Hanako, so you have finally arrived. What a momentous occasion." He stated in flat tone.
"Why would I miss your defeat?" Hanako smiled innocently.
Arlo stared at her in silence until he came to a realization, "You no longer have the Earth's protection!" He chortled loudly.
Hanako held Laura back from attacking him, "You had nothing when the Earth foolishly chose you. I have the love of the Gods everything shall work in my favor." She declared proudly.
"You brought the Goddess of Spite's lab reject? How come? Have you fallen for her?" Arlo mused after glancing at Laura.
Hanako scowled at him, "I will fucking kill you." She sneered venomously.
"With your love," Arlo scoffed, "please, even this thing cannot stop me. However, Amaris does pose a threat. I have yet to see Iria lose all control of herself. I heard she once slaughtered an entire village just to Spite the Goddess Hera."
"You are clearly strong, why must you put on a ruse? You have full control of the Earth, so explain why you have not destroyed us?" Hanako questioned.
"Where is the fun in that? I am merely on the offense." Arlo shrugged his shoulders.
Alice suddenly appeared in between them with Carter by her side. Amaris stood beside Hanako with Chanmi to watch Alice break her Father's number one rule: to never interfere with their fate. She stopped all time around them while Carter approached Hanako. Laura stepped in front of her to stop her, but Carter pushed her out of the way with a single touch. Hanako stared at her blankly as she pressed her thumbs against her temples while holding her head in place. Both of their eyes rolled to the back of their heads as Carter restored the broken connection between the Earth and Hanako. Hanako felt the Earth's energy flow through her veins once again. Carter let go of Hanako with a menacing expression. Alice slammed the heel of her palm against Arlo's chest. She reversed his time to when he stood at his strongest. Chanmi turned to Amaris, who remained stoic.
"Your Majesty, I like how you play. A fair game is a fair game, am I right?" Chanmi chuckled while placing a lollipop in her mouth.
"Indeed." Amaris hummed.
"What about her?" Chanmi pointed to Laura, who had been knocked unconscious by Carter.
"I shall deal with her." Amaris spoke curtly.
"Yeah, you better...she fucking reeks like the Goddess of Spite!" Chanmi griped with a disgusted expression.
Carter and Alice simultaneously disappeared to put distance between the revitalized beings of the Earth. Chanmi threw Laura over her shoulder while dragging Amaris to somewhere safer than the battle between Hanako and Arlo.
