Ashlynn opened the door to her house, welcoming in Damon once again within 10 years.
“I forgot how big your house was” he said chuckling, she smiled and guided him to the kitchen where her mother was chopping up vegetables for dinner and then scooping them into a pot.
Her mother looked up at ashlynn before her eyes drifted to Damon and widened. “Damon? Oh my, it’s been so long” she said hugging him.
He stiffened uncomfortably and Ashlynn giggled. Her mother let him go and moved his hair back looking into his eyes “you’ve gotten so big!” Her mother said excited to see him.
“DANIEL COME DOWNSTAIRS WE HAVE A VISITOR! YOU TOO GABE!” Ashylnn’s mother yelled.
Ashlynn winced and sat her bag on a stool by the counter. Gabe groaned and came into the room and took one look at Damon and then scowled “what’s “he” doing here.” He snapped.
Ashlynn’s mother glared and crossed her arms, “Gabe. Apologize.” She demanded, Damon chuckled “no, no it’s fine mrs. Meyers” He said.
Her mother smiled “oh Damon dear please call me Aline” she said, he nodded as Gabe shoved past him to grab a coke from the fridge.
He shot a look at Damon and trudged back upstairs just as her father came out of his office. “What’s wrong with him?” He asked Aline, she smiled and nodded her head towards Damon who waved nervously.
“Oh! Damon how nice to see you, it’s been awhile” he said, Damon grinned “yes it has been while” he replied.
Ashlynn munched on a pop tart as she watched the scene go down.
Her mother- Aline Meyers- was ashlynn’s height with light brown hair and blue eyes that made her look extremely beautiful. Her heart was always full of kindness and never once had she ever felt hatred towards anyone.
Her father- Daniel Meyers- is the exact replica of Ashlynn just as a guy. His hair was a jet black color with crystal blue eyes and freckles, he was the type of guy who looked to be a Casanova in high school.
Her brother -Gabe Matthews- looked nothing like any of them...why? Well you’ll learn why soon. He was tall, skinny, with blonde hair and hazel eyes. And he absolutely hated Damon.
Ashylnn frowned and left the kitchen making her way to her room as Damon and her family chatted happily, she sighed opening the door and closing it before sliding down the surface of the wood.
Ashylnn let her head fall into her hands as she curled into a ball, she bit her tongue holding back a scream of frustration as she held back tears.
She looked up at a photo of Damon and her cuddled together when they were younger, she hiccuped and then let the tears fall just as a knock sounded at the door.
“Ashy?” Damon’s voice sounded through the oak wood door.
She sighed and wiped her eyes before picking up the picture and putting it in her dresser underneath her underwear and bras before opening the door.
“Oh..hey” she said, he smiled and let himself into the room looking around “wow, your rooms changed a lot...” he said, she raised an eyebrow “what do you mean?” She asked, he grinned “remember when it was rainbow everything” he chuckled and she punched his shoulder playfully, he winced slightly and smirked “now it’s...” he paused noticing what the theme was. “It’s... England...themed....” he looked at ashlynn just as her face grew red.
*flashback*
“Hey ashy what’s your dream place to go when you get older?” Damon asked as they tossed a ball back and fourth in her backyard, she smiled “I want to go to England when I get older! I’m gonna be a writer!” She grinned. He chuckled “I’ll go with you! And I’ll become a world famous athletic director!” He grinned.
*end of flashback*
He looked at ashlynn and stared blankly in shock as she laughed nervously and pushed him out of the room “alright, I think it’s time for you to go home now...bye” she said shutting the door on him.
He blinked as he cheeks grew red and he trudged down the steps before waving goodbye to Daniel and Aline and then sprinting home.
Ashlynn walked over to her bed and flopped down before groaning “he totally remembered...” she mumbled before looking at her messages.
Hailee: shopping after school tomorrow?
Regina: I’m free
Danielle: hell yeah!
Ashlynn sighed and typed something along the lines of “sorry can’t make it” but she deleted it and smiled slightly “maybe it’ll help” she whispered to herself.
Ash: I’m in!
Her laptop started ringing and she opened it up before accepting the group call.
“Sup girl! I’m surprised your not busy like usual when we go shopping” Regina said cheerfully as hailee and Danielle joined the call.
“True that” Danielle grinned as she laid in her bed painting her nails a bright “girls night pink”. Hailee grinned as she cuddled with drake on her bed covered in all her stuffed animals and pillows.
“Are ya sick or some shit ash?” She asked, I laughed and rolled my eyes “no, I just think it’s time for a change ya know...” she said.
Hailee frowned “you don’t need to change yourself to fit into the group ya know” she said, Regina smiled “yeah, we like you the way you are”
“Well besides the fact that your still hangin out with that Damon dude” Hailee said, Regina flipped over on her stomach and rolled her eyes “hey I think he’s hot, plus he’s got some admirers...and he’s apart of the athletic department council...he just doesn’t have a big enough rep to be noticed is all Hailee” regina chatted away.
Hailee rolled her eyes and glanced at drake who was looking at ashlynn through the screen when a knock sounded on the door.
“Ashlynn honey...” her mother’s kind voice floated through the wood and into her ears, regina’s eyes lit up along with Hailee and Danielle.
“Yeah mom?” She called back, her mother opened the door worry in her eyes as she looked at ashlynn. “Have you seen Gabe..?” She asked, ashlynn raised an eyebrow “no...why?” She replied.
Regina frowned on the screen and Hailee watched with curiosity in her eyes, Danielle stiffened.
“Ever since Damon was here he hasn’t left his room...we went to check on him but he wasn’t there...” she said, ashylnn’s eyes widened in fear and filled with horror.
“Guys I have to go.” Ashylnn snapped as she shut the laptop and ran passed her mom to Gabe’s room.
“GABE!” Ashylnn shouted for him, but got silence in response.
“GABE DAMMIT THIS ISN’T FUNNY!” She screamed, the window to his room opened slowly and Gabe peaked his head in “what.” He said, ashlynn stared as she noticed his tear stained face.
“What....happened....” she asked, he glared “it’s none of your damn business now leave me alone.” He said dropping down onto the ground again.
“Moms worries about you...” Ashlynn mumbled, Gabe stiffened “what...” he asked. “Moms worried...” Ashlynn looked from her hands directly into gabe’s eyes “worried....about you.” She finished.
Gabe frowned and climbed into the window only to sit on the window sill “let me tell you something ash. I don’t believe that she’s worried or cares alright. Especially you. I’m not related to you guys. I’m just an adoptive brother that no one really cares about.” Gabe snapped.
Ashlynn stared and backed away slightly. “Why are you so mad....” she asked, Gabe growled “I’m mad because I never wanted to see that bastard “Damon” ever again. He pisses me off, and is just another competitor in the way.” He purred slightly.
Ashlynn stiffened “what do you mean....?” She asked, Gabe rolled his eyes. “I like you. Not as a sister or a friend. Since we’re not related I make it my job to win you over and love you unconditionally. But “Damon”” he growled Damon’s name “keeps getting in my way!” Gabe shouted.
Ashlynn laughed nervously “your kidding right...? There’s no way in hell you could like me...besides I only think of you as a brother...I’d never....resort to things like that....” she trailed off before sprinting from the room and grabbing her bag.
“Ash?” Her dad said poking his head in, “I’m going over to Hailee’s for the night, bye!” She yelled running out the door.
Gabe watched her from his window and frowned “well...that didn’t go the way I wanted it to...”
