Ok so I’ve kinda connected the dots…….
So sometime between 699 and The Last, Sasuke did come back to the village apart from what happened in The Last
Because of Sasuke going to Konoha in his novel.
But it doesn’t mean what SS wants it to mean. Sasuke isn’t going to Sakura, he’s going for nostalgia because he was basically done with his redemption journey
This is when I think this happened
And it probably wasn’t even a “date” it was just Sakura running into Sasuke during his visit and since they were alone, someone saw them knowing how much Sakura loves Sasuke and misinterpreted it as a date but went back and told Ino and probably a whole bunch of people.
Sakura probably ran into Sasuke and started nagging him about her feelings (like she said she would in her novel) and in 2 ½ minutes he got tired of it and bounced.
Then you have Sakura here not denying that it was a date even though it really wasn’t which is really in character for her and its in character for Sasuke to not even remember it because it wasn’t a “date” to him, it was him running into an old team mate.
This also falls in line with how Sasuke feels about even visiting his daughter, its because Sarada represents different things to Sasuke and Sakura. To Sakura, she’s a trophy, something to wave around so she can constantly remind everyone that she slept with the most handsome guy in Konoha (this is evidenced when she forbids Sarada from using her sharingan because “she’ll become a target for more enemies like Shin” but its completely ok for Sarada to have the Uchiha crest on her clothes and its reeeeeallly necessary for Sakura to wear the Uchiha crest had have giant ones both on the outside and inside of her home.).
To Sasuke, Sarada is a responsibility he didn’t want.
Which is why he NEVER shows any remorse for missing out on her entire life. In fact, Sasuke gives nothing but excuses for his actions.
I mean I’m not saying he hates Sarada, he clearly cares about her but he doesn’t care on a fatherly level.
I mean Naruto gets upset for missing ONE birthday. ONE out of what? 12 for Boruto and 7 for Himawari?
And he still got a present for Boruto.
Sasuke ain’t send a goddamn postcard to his daughter in over a decade.
I honestly don’t know why SS worships the Sakura/Sasuke novels and Gaiden so much. They pretty much trash the fuck out of their ship.
