Kerak Telor or Egg crust is native to the Jakarta area (Betawi), with the ingredients of white glutinous rice, chicken or duck eggs, dry roasted ebi plus fried shallots, then topped with mashed spices in the form of roasted coconut, red chilies, kencur, ginger, pepper. granules, salt and sugar. According to history, the egg crust has existed since the Dutch colonial era, the egg crust was created by the Betawi people by accident in the 1970s. I personally really like the egg crust, more than the others and I recommend all of you if you visit Indonesia, to try the egg crust.
