lontong sayur is Indonesian food originating from Minangkabau, West Sumatra. Lontong is synonymous with coconut milk sauce which has thick spices typical of Minang cuisine. Coconut milk which is rich in spices is known as a way of cooking in the Minang style. We often encounter this typical Minangkabau food in many places, from restaurants to street vendors. Apart from its name, lontong sayur is also commonly served with ketupat, which is often called ketupat sayur. Although it comes from Minangkabau, lontong sayur can also be found in other parts of Indonesia.
