63. OutMission (2)
Lex, Mio, Max, and Cleos, the four of them stood tensed up under a woman gaze who sat behind the table right in front of them
The four of them were in Vera Crimson’s office right now, and of course, it was Vera who was gazing at them.
“So, the four of you want to take OutMission together?” Vera asked for another confirmation
Usually, for a normal member, it doesn’t need Vera permission to take OutMission, you just need confirmation from the Main Hall, but Guests were different they need special permission before they can take an OutMission, and this time Mio, and Cleos three of four members were Guests, that’s why the four of them inside Vera Crimson’s Office.
“Yes!” Max replied then he explained about the OutMission and the reason he selected these members
“Hmm…” Vera replied before becoming silent again
“….”
(What is this!? What situation is this!? It feels like we’re going to be judged right this moment!)
“Isn’t fine? They are Tier D members now, they passed the requirement for OutMission” the one who broke the silence was a woman wearing a jersey which unmatched with the situation, it was Venti Crimson, right after she said that Lex and others were looking at with sparkling eyes Venti like she was a messenger of God an angel who helped them in hard times.
“….” Vera hesitated for a while “ha~~” before she finally give in “is there anyone available now?” she asked her secretary
“Yes, among the tier D now is these two” the secretary replied instantly, she can connect what they were talking about and what Vera asked without any confusion.
“Bring them here” commanded by Vera, the secretary left after a bow toward Vera and Venti
(What a capable secretary!) Lex thought
“Wait” Vera spoke one word before she’s back working something on her desk while leaving the four of them with nothing to do

(what should we do in this situation!?)
“Hehe, to think you ready to take OutMission” Venti spoke again

“And why have you never come to my place?” She said while glaring dagger toward Lex
Actually, it wasn’t because Venti’s Path useless to Lex, it was just he had other paths in priority so he’d never come to Venti’s Area before. if he had more time Lex definitely will go there. But Lex didn’t know how to explain that “um….” While he’s wrecking his brain how to answer her
“Well, fine, if you failed this OutMission you will learn under me for half a year! No objection!” Venti declared
Lex remembered what happened to him just by visiting her place for a few hours
(She… she’s a Devil!!)
(How do I solve this!! I can’t say no after she helped us talk before!)
(....Damn it! There’s no way out!)
Lex can’t escape anymore so he resolved himself “we absolutely can’t fail this OutMission!” Lex declared toward the other three with enthusiasm and got replied by a bitter smile by the rest
“By the way, Venti I had something to ask”
“Mm~” Venti replied she looked In a much better mood than before as her scheme succeeded
“Do you know about the Natural state of mana?”
“Yes…?” Venti replied while tilting her head, there’s no one who didn’t know the natural state of Mana as long they learned about Mana, that’s what anybody learned for the first time touched the Hidden World
“My bad, let me rephrase, can you replicate the Natural State of Mana?”
“With our Mana?”
“Yes! last time I was able to send Mana outside of my body without being blocked with Li- Silent Witch’s help” Then Lex explained to her what he experienced with Livia before, of course, while hiding the lap-pillow part, no one noticed it but from the middle, Vera stopped working and seriously listened to Lex’s story
“I see…” Venti muttered softly “as always what a Monster…”
While the others, Max, Mio, Cleos, and Vera they had a face like when someone told them there’s a waterfall that flows upside down
“What you want to ask me if it’s possible to replicate isn’t it?” Venti asked and Lex nodded answering her
“That’s impossible! I think no one except her can do that kind of stunt, even Grandma Ura can’t do something like that
“I see” Lex replied shortly without looking disappointed at all, he knew it was impossible, he just asked for that with ‘maybe there's a way’ reason.
*knock *knock
A knock came from the door right after their conversation ended
“come in,” Vera said
“Excuse us” Vera’s secretary back with two people following behind her, when they saw them
““Aria? Arthur?”” Mio and Lex called their name at the same time
““??”” the both of them who were called stopped in their track as they stared back toward Mio and Lex.
“Oh? Right the four of you were acquaintanced with each other isn’t it” Vera said “I almost forgot about it, then it’s better this way”
“Aria and Arthur, I want you to join them for this OutMission” Vera said before she stared back toward Max “and I will only permit you four if you take both of them with you”
After declaration from Vera, there’s nothing Max can do but accept her terms, there’s no reason to reject her offer in the first place, it’s safer with more people especially an experienced one like Aria and Arthur, at the same time Aria and Arthur don’t have a reason to decline Vera’s order too it’s not like they were forced to take a hard Mission, it’s a simple easy OutMission and they promised merits with it. Then it was decided the Six of them will take this OutMission together

Once Lex and others left the office, Venti told Vera’s secretary to leave them alone
“Aren’t you too overprotective this time?” Venti asked
“Well~” Vera replied she knew it too that she was too overprotective just now
“Is it because of him at that party?”
“Who…?” Vera thought for a while before “Lex Spifer?” she got what Venti means
“It wasn’t?”
“No, It’s wasn’t him” Vera replied “haa~, I just got a bad feeling about their OutMission this time”
“Bad feeling?” Venti become serious when she heard Vera’s reason
“Un” Vera nodded “I hope nothing happens to them”
“Then ask your subordinate to do some investigation, I’ll do the same on my part too” Venti stated “even if there’s nothing at least it relieved your concern”
“Thank you,” Vera said sincerely looking at someone who will always be on her side no matter what happens
“It’s ok, I’ll always protect you, no matter what happens!” Venti declared with strong determination in her eyes, if Lex saw her right now he would scream ‘who is she!?’ right away.
“Un, thanks again, sis…” there’s no dignity or charisma as a leader when Vera said that, what’s left was a normal woman, Vera who depended strongly on her sister

Lex and the other five assembled in the cafeteria after they left the office, usually Lex would let Max lead the way, but this time as he was the one who lead their party as he was the only one who familiar with each other from both sides, once they sat on their seat
