Snicket approached the library, hoping that he could calm his nerves with a good book. As soon as he entered the library, Dashiell Qwerty looked up from swatting at moths with a handkerchief. "Hello, Snicket," Dashiell greeted Snicket with a small smile. "Looking for something to read?" He asked, and Snicket nodded. "I'm looking for a book about the history of Vampires." Dashiell blinked. "Vampires? Snicket, you know as well as I do that Vampires aren't found here in Stain'd-by-the-Sea." Snicket chuckled grimly. "But Vampires do exist Dashiell..." Snicket thought to himself, as he wandered the library, in the hopes of finding a book about the history of Vampires. "They are simply hiding on plain sight..."
Snicket's searching proved successful, for he found a small black book. "Vampires: The Feeding, Conversion, and History of the Children of the Night." Snicket read the title aloud quietly. Flipping it open, he turned to the 1st page...
"Vampires are a blood-sucking, nocturnal race of humanoids. There are three stages of Vampire; Fledging (The recently turned Vampire, has no control of bloodthirst, and can't turn others.) Mature (The middle stage. Has some control of bloodthirst, but still can't turn others.) And the Elder Vampire (The final stage, can fully control bloodthirst, and can turn others.)"307Please respect copyright.PENANAgrjr9pbRtM
"Fledging Vampires are people who have been recently turned. They possess a savage bloodthirst, so they're liable to attack and feed whenever the bloodthirst strikes them. The Elder Vampire that sired them can sense when their Fledging is nearby, and when distressed, the Fledging can 'chirp' alerting the Elder Vampire. Alongside feeding on human blood, Fledging Vampires will also feed on animal blood." 307Please respect copyright.PENANA9fPRrZH3fP
Snicket put the book down, a scowl on his face. He went to put the book back, and felt the sharp point of a stake in his back. "I would be careful, Mr. Snicket," Ellington warned, pressing the stake into Snicket's back. "This stake's made of apsen, and I've heard that apsen's dangerous for Vampires." 307Please respect copyright.PENANAWqwSwTrfeK
