It's almost 7. I wait outside Mirabel's room hoping she did what I told her to do. I look around. I can't believe Mirabel is getting a gift! Everyone is busy as bees, but no sign of the undead granny. I need to keep my eyes and wits sharp. There are about 10 minutes until it's 7. Maybe I could sneak around. I try sneaking toward the stairs until I saw Camilo coming up the stairs. I try to act cool as if I have never seen him. So much for my wits.
"Hey! You ready for-" I put my hands over his mouth so he won't say another word.
"Shush! She might hear you!" I sorta whisper. "You'll ruin the...thing with your swaying hips."201Please respect copyright.PENANAQeZoFEGBJg
He takes my hands off of his mouth. "Don't worry about it! Everything will be taken care of." He said this still holding my hands.201Please respect copyright.PENANA5ie1TciM4e
I look to see his face blushing, but I can't feel mine. I just feel prickley and bruised. My mouth starts to open before I could think. "Ok. I like you. You like me. Why are we stuck in a circle of blushing? Shouldn't have already kis-" That's when it finally happened. The first time I kiss a guy who wants me for me. And it was lovely, but should I feel nauseous? The magic ended, but before anything could have been said, I heard a door about to open. So in panic, I pushed Camilo down the stairs and rushed toward the door. Mirabel stepped out of the door all in white.201Please respect copyright.PENANAYzrmmtYTeb
"Alright. What's this about?" She sounded as if I was wasting her time.
"Just wait for 10 seconds." Mirabel rolls her eyes.
"I don't have time for this." As she says those words, the lights dimmed. "What's going on?"
"Something that's going to make you eat your words." Before she said anything, everyone in town starts heading up the stairs singing.* They sang until everyone in the family was upstairs. I step back to see the look on Mirabel's face when her granny came up the stairs, holding the candle. Her face was in shock, and she ran to hug the undead. As they hug, Mirabel reaches her hand toward me.
"I'm so sorry," she whispers. I grab her hand and held it tightly.
"I'm sorry too." In a way, that hug was for 2 people. I let go so she can open her door. It was all bright and shiny instead of that shade of blue. As the granny did her little speech, I leaned toward Camilo.
"Sorry I pushed you down the stairs," I whisper.
"It's ok. I would have done the same." I turn to him to give him a concerned look and his answer was to kiss me on the nose. I smile, held his hand, and look straight at the door as Mirabel opens it. Everything started to feel ok until the door kept getting brighter. I could barely see and before I knew it, I was floating.
"What's happening?!" But there was no one around, but the bright shine of the door. I didn't understand, but it was calling me. I float towards the light. Closer and closer. Until I hear a soft beeping sound. Before I could anything else, I was pushed up into the sky, screaming for my life. I stop. And when I turned, I was hit by an F-15 Strike Eagle.** And there was only darkness.
I woke up. Filling my lungs with air, to find myself in the hospital. I've never felt so clueless in my life. Or had a headache this bad.
"They're alive!" said some doctor.
"What..?"
"Oh thank heavens!" said some old guy who came running to hug me.
"What's going on?"
"Well, you crashed one of my F-15 Strike Eagles. And here we are!" says the old guy.
"I still don't..."
"If I may," interrupts the doctor, "you've seemed to have crashed...that and are in the hospital. This here is you're grandfather, who is also the general of the airforce."
"So, did I die?"
"No soldier! You were in a coma for 5 months!" said the general.201Please respect copyright.PENANAlu7MDl1FY4
